Shanghai Chemical Industry Vocational Education Group was established in September, 2010 with the approval of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission in accordance with the spirit of “the Notice of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission on Printing and Distributing Opinions on Promoting the Establishment of Vocational Education Groups in Shanghai (Shanghai Education Commission Vocational and Adult Education Section[2007] No.26)”.
Shanghai Chemical Industry Vocational Education Group is a voluntary vocational education consortium and interest community with Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College and Shanghai Information Technology School as the main sponsors, together with relevant vocational colleges, enterprises and institutions, and industry associations. Shanghai Chemical Industry Vocational Education Group is under the leadership and work guidance of Shanghai Education Committee, focusing on school-enterprise cooperation, school-school cooperation and school-association cooperation, giving full play to the respective advantages of members of Shanghai Chemical Industry Vocational Education Group, improving the level of running schools, and cultivating high-quality skilled talents catering to the modern chemical industry, so as to achieve the purpose of resource sharing and complementary advantages.
After so many years' efforts, at present, the Group has nearly 100 member units all over the country in dozens of provinces, municipalities and autonomous regions. The governing units include secondary vocational schools, higher vocational schools, colleges, technicial colleges and universities at all levels, and the organizers are mainly governments at all levels. The directors of enterprises include state-funded, joint-venture and wholly foreign-owned enterprises, state-owned holding companies and joint-stock companies, which fully demonstrate the broad mind of Shanghai vocational education and the lofty ambition of serving the development of vocational education in the whole country, aiming at realizing cross-regional cooperation of vocational education and promoting balanced development through cooperation.
Shanghai Modern Chemical Vocational College and Shanghai Information Technology School, the two leading units of the Group, enjoy strong reputation within the Group, have great influence in the governing units and the national chemical industry, play a core role in the work of the Group, and also play a positive role in the balanced and coordinated development of the national chemical vocational education, making important contributions to the implementation and realization of the Group's established development goals and tasks.
