In 2010, SPA signed a cooperation letter of intent with Lisa-Meitner School in Berlin, the Chemical Industry Training Association in the Northeastern Germany, and the Chemical Employers' Federation in the Northeast of Germany. They jointly developed eight professional core courses with international standards. The curriculum system adopted by the first BASF Class is a new set of professional and curriculum standards jointly developed by China and Germany. Lao Xiaoyan spoke highly of the tripartite cooperation. She said that the cooperation is a successful practice for SPA to introduce internationally renowned vocational education and training brands to carry out the localization of the German “dual system”, which greatly enriched and deepened the cooperation between SPA and enterprises. It will make beneficial exploration and accumulate valuable experience for the internationalization of Shanghai vocational education.
German dual-system vocational training model has achieved fruitful achievements in China through tripartite cooperation. Ines Kramer said that today is an unusual day for the students of the first BASF Class. The students have completed three years of study and will enter BASF as regular employees, making an important step for their future career. For SPA and BBZ, it is also an important day. Six years ago, the two sides signed an agreement on cooperation for the first time. Since then, the two sides have cooperated closely and sincerely. Now the two sides are not only cooperation partners but also friends. For the school, today is a most meaningful and important day. The training standards and teaching methods introduced from Germany are very different from those familiar to the teachers of SPA. How to implement the new standards is a big challenge for them. However, with the joint efforts of the three parties, in a very short period of time, the new standard teaching was successfully carried out.
Xue Congjun believes that with the cooperation of the three parties, the chemical operator training projects will allow more students to experience the spirit of German craftsmanship and it will become a model of vocational education.
The leaders and guests attending the ceremony issued course-completion certificates for the students of the first BASF Class. Ines Kramer presented gifts to the outstanding students of the first BASF Class. Hu Dijun, the class teacher of the first BASF Class reviewed the life and study of the class over the past years. In recent years, SPA has attached great importance to the cooperation with well-known enterprises and vocational training institutions at home and abroad to develop professional technical standards and professional teaching standards. It has set a good example in the field of vocational education in Shanghai.
BASF is a Fortune 500 chemical company with more than a decade of cooperation with SPA. SPA and BASF have had many successful cooperation in order-oriented cultivation, research on teaching and the training of teachers. Dr. Bradley Morrison mentioned that safety and high efficiency are the base of the company's production. To achieve the goal, the company needs to hire and train the best employees. It is very effective for enterprises to train their employees by means of the chemical operator class and the employee summer camp. Lin Guoxin said that with the successful teaching experience of the first Bath Class, the school's teaching team will continue to improve the teaching methods and optimize the training program to achieve better teaching results.
Promoting the integration of production and education and school-enterprise cooperation are not only the general trend under China’s new normal, but also the only way to improve the quality of talents cultivated by the school under the background of transformational development. The establishment of the second BASF Class has opened a new chapter in school-enterprise cooperation. Gu Hongwei said that vocational education of Jinshan District needs more high-standard, high-level international education and training, and they will continue to support the cooperation between SPA , BASF and BBZ.
