SPA successfully won the honorary title of 2014-2015 Shanghai Safe & Civilized Campus for the second consecutive year according to the notification issued by Shanghai Municipal Education Committee Office and Special Group of Campus and Adjacent Areas Public Security Comprehensive Management with Shanghai Municipal Commission for Comprehensive Management on Vocational Education Online website on January 25, 2016.
According to the requirements of central government and Shanghai municipal government, all the universities, colleges, middle and primary schools and secondary vocational schools implement the activity of creating a safe and civilized campus to establish better educating environment for students.
In the past two years, SPA has focused on creating a safe and civilized campus and attached great importance to the task by setting up a leading group and building up security mechanism.
Security mechanism is optimized gradually and school equipment security management mechanism, such as water, electricity and gas, is strictly implemented. SPA also reinforces the management of labs and school clinics. Meanwhile, 24-hour campus security inspection mechanism is carried out strictly. Comprehensive management and propaganda education are also conducted to safeguard the security and civilization of campus. At the same time, SPA lays more emphasis on campus culture construction to create a fine humanistic environment. Safety education is carried out periodically by means of monthly theme security education and monthly emergency evacuation drills. Emergency response plans are optimized continually. SPA conducts spot checks on students' dormitories as well to ensure the awareness of safety and security of all the students on campus, which also helps to improve the emergency response capabilities of all the relevant departments of SPA.
SPA's moral education focuses on civic morality education and patriotism-centered national spirit education. SPA has carried out effective and colorful campus culture activities and social practice activities. There are 3 themed festivals on campus, namely, P.E. Festival, Science and Technology Festival, and Art Festival. The students' clubs also draw and arouse students' interest, which helps to lay a solid foundation for students' future life and career. Systematic psychology education system is designed, which can provide timely assistance and guidance to those who are in need.
SPA will continue to focus on the new round of creating Shanghai safe and civilized campus, further strengthen organization, optimize security management mechanism, enrich campus culture, actively participate in adjacent areas environment governance, fully implement Shanghai standards of Basic Requirements for the Management of Safety Precautions in Primary and Middle Schools and Kindergartens and the Ministry of Education standards of A Guide to Job Safety in Primary and Middle Schools, deeply promote the construction of safe and civilized campus, and create a healthy and positive growing environment for young students.
