Students of SPA Wins the Second Prize in 2016 National Youth Robot Olympiad

From July 22 to 26, 2016, the 2016 National Youth Robot Olympiad was held at Dalian University of Technology. The Robot Club of SPA has the honor to compete in the national competition on the Humanoid Robot Dance Project. After fierce competition, they won the second prize in the national middle school group.

The three instructors were Bai Wenjun, Peng Xudong and Zhang Chao. As soon as they received the task, they actively led the contestants to prepare for the national competition. During the summer vacation, Zhuang Zhikang and Lu Wenjie, members of the club from 141 CNC 02 class fully embodied the spirit of diligence and hard work. They repeatedly improved the design and arrangement of robot dance movements, precision and stability. The temperature reached as high as 38 degrees, but they never asked for a single day’s leave. During the training period, Cao Jun, the director of the Labor and Technology Center, came to the school to guide the training work many times and gave great encouragement to the contestants.

With the increasing influence of the robot project in primary and secondary schools, it is becoming more and more popular among the students. Therefore, the number of participating teams is the largest in history. At the same time, the robot equipment has been updated to a greater extent. In order to ensure the success of the competition, the contestants carefully debugged the machine until very late in the night before the competition.

Looking back, we believe that we still have space for improvement. After the game, the instructors and students carefully summed up the process of preparations and competition to prepare for the next time to achieve better results.
