On March 10, Gao Ju, principal of SPA and Lin Guoxin, Party secretary of SPA, went to Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Development Co., Ltd. to pay a visit to Zhang Chun, general manager of the company. The two sides exchanged ideas on how to highlight the characteristics of school- running. Sun Jianguo, director of General Planning Office, and Fang Min, deputy director of the office, attended the meeting.
First of all, Gao Ju introduced the current development of the school and listed the current special projects in progress. The first one is the construction of the training rooms. On behalf of SPA, he expressed his sincerest thanks to the Chemical Industry Park for investing 9 million yuan in the training center for the school in 2005, which provided a brand-new public service platform for vocational training in the chemical industry and it became one of the first batch of chemical open training centers in Shanghai. At present, the school is optimizing and reorganizing the new comprehensive training building according to the AHK forensic standard of the German Chamber of Commerce and Industry. After the completion of upgrading, the school will sincerely invite the leaders of the Chemical Industry Park to visit the school to guide the work. The second one is that AHK International Vocational Education and Training Certificate is implemented in the three core majors of the school. This is the localization process of the German “dual system”. Germany's professional technical standards are recognized in the world. BASF, Covestro, Evonik and other well-known enterprises participate in the development and implementation of international teaching standards for SPA, and they play an active role in promoting AHK certificate. The third one is the school's reconstruction and extension project. In 2017, SPA will invest 230 million yuan in this project, including the earthquake-resistant reinforcement project, the new Electromechanical Training Building and the new building of Students’ Activity Center. The fourth one is to establish a cooperative relationship with Jinshan Industrial Zone. Some enterprises in the Industrial Zone are highly modernized, including fine chemicals, electronics, robots, intelligent manufacturing, and intelligent warehousing, etc. SPA will complete the transition and upgrade of the current specialties to adapt to the development of the times.
Lin Guoxin reviewed the 12-year history of cooperation between SPA and SCIP. He said that the cooperation between SPA and SCIP is a milestone in the development of SPA. The achievements of the school are closely related to the support of SCIP. He thanked SCIP for providing the Annual Vocational Education Innovation Award for SPA. At the same time, he emphasized that the future development of the school is inseparable from the guidance and concern of the leaders of SCIP. He pointed out that vocational schools must strengthen in-depth school-enterprise cooperation and at the same time, SPA will strive to cultivate more outstanding employees for SCIP.
Sun Jianguo said that the SCIP is the business card of SPA and SPA is also a business card of SCIP. In the process of attracting investment in the chemical industry zone, they found that enterprise owners are most concerned about talents. Shanghai Petrochemical Academy has cultivated and conveyed a large number of outstanding employees to the industrial zone. He hoped that this cooperation will be closer and more sustainable.
Zhang Chun said that the company will continue to provide various support for SPA, including the Vocational Education Innovation Award. Because of the supply-side reform, all-round well-off society, and improvement of people's well-being, new requirements have been put forward for vocational education. He suggested that SPA can make more propaganda at the regular meetings of the enterprises in SCIP, so that more enterprises can learn more about the school, so it can provide human resources reserves for the next round of development of the chemical industry zone. At the same time, he hoped that SPA can give full play to its professional advantages and serve the construction of the exhibition hall in SCIP, so that people will no longer turn pale at the mere mention of “chemical”.
In the end, Gao Ju made a concluding speech. He said that SPA will carefully organize and plan all the work with high standards and strict requirements. SPA will try to meet the needs of the industrial chain, adapt to market demand. SPA will actively adjust the professional structure, train a group of famous teachers, provide high quality teaching and serve region economy. He hoped the school and enterprises could work together to promote the integration of industry and education, and make the vocational education of SPA an excellent brand.
