On March 17, 2017, a group of distinguished guests came to SPA. They are visitors and guests from 43 enterprises came to attend 2017 School-Running Steering Committee Conference at the invitation of SPA. In the afternoon, the conference was held in the conference room on the second floor of the Training Building on Southern Campus. Lin Guoxin, the Party secretary of SPA, Huang Hanjun, vice principal of SPA, and the heads of the relevant departments attended the meeting. The conference was hosted by Tang Lianxi, director of the Enrollment and Employment Office.
First of all, Lin Guoxin delivered a welcome speech. New and old friends gathering together, Lin Guoxin was very excited. On behalf of the school, he expressed his thanks to all the members of the committee for their support and care in the past years. Recalling the history of school-enterprise cooperation in our school, we have gone through 20 years. The enterprises have given SPA strong support, which helps the school develop quickly and stably. At present, we have started further cooperation with BASF to improve the quality of school-running by implementing the German Dual System and combining discipline construction with industrial development. This is to cultivate more excellent talents for enterprises.
Shen Chenyang, director of Academic Affairs introduced the teaching work of SPA. The School has attached great importance to the basic construction. SPA has a complete school curriculum system and its level of school-running is praised highly of by all parties. SPA has achieved outstanding achievement in professional teaching, the improvement of teachers’ ability, students’ academic level examination and professional skills etc. Shen Chenyang pointed out that with the development of society and the school itself, SPA should further strengthen the construction of the faculty, and he hoped that the company could provide more opportunities for teachers of SPA to go to the enterprise for front-line practice to gain more practical knowledge. What’s more, in the construction of featured major, SPA hopes to invite more experts from enterprises to participate in it.
Shao Zhe, the director of the Students’ Affairs Department, started from the characteristics of the current secondary vocational students and pointed out that it was a great challenge to educate them. SPA takes all measures to improve the overall quality of students. On the one hand, the school has built a strong team of class teachers. They implement students' self-management and hold various activities for the students. On the other hand, students' time concept, behaviors and appearance, the abilities to communicate and interact, and the cultivation of professional awareness are also taken into consideration.
Lu Qiang from BASF (China) Co., Ltd., Liu Huaxin from Shanghai Gao Qiao SGPEC Engineering & Construction Co., Ltd., and Xiao Shengnan from Johnson Matthey (Shanghai) Chemical Co., Ltd. shared their ideas on behalf of their respective company. Lu Qiang talked about the current school-enterprise cooperation model —— German dual system, which allows students to have more time to learn about the equipment and facilities in the plants, production processes, safety production specifications and the knowledge, skills and professionalism required for their future positions. The students have to go through many learning processes from school to enterprise and from enterprise to school, which is very helpful to enhance students' recognition of the company. Liu Huaxin talked about “spirit of craftsman”. Cultivating and promoting the spirit of craftsman will further stimulate the labors’ enthusiasm for work, realize the dreams and value of life through their labor, and promote the formation of a good social trend. Xiao Shengnan mainly shared the feelings of cooperation with SPA in the past few years. She hoped the school and enterprises could cooperate sincerely to achieve their common goals.
