On March 27th, Chen Yun, senior vice president, head of Covestro integrated site, David Wang, HR officer-campus recruitment , Pan Xuefeng, maintenance management manager, An Yuan, production manager, Frank Guldentops, director of maintenance management, Huang Rongting, recruiting commissioner and some other staff of the company came to SPA to have a visit and they were warmly welcomed by Gao Ju, principal of SPA, Lin Guoxin, Party secretary of SPA and Huang Hanjun, vice principal of SPA.
Accompanied by Gao Ju and other leaders of SPA, Chen Yun and his entourage visited the CNC Training Building, Evonik Training Center, Covestro Training Center, Electromechanical Building and Chemical Comprehensive Training Building. Then, the two sides further exchanged ideas about new ways and areas for school-enterprise cooperation.
In the Chemical Instrumentation & Automation Training Room, Xu Wenming introduced the basic situation of the training room. Xu has rich experience in corporate practice. Many students guided by him have won the first prize many times in the National Skills Competition and he was awarded the Gold Medal Instructor of the National Vocational School Skills Competition. Gao Ju said that hiring enterprise experts to teach is helpful for students to master the skills of production line, and has a significant effect on the overall quality of students. Chen Yun approved the practice of hiring enterprise experts to serve as full-time teachers, and praised highly of the training room for its good management. When Chen Yu asked whether the teachers of SPA regularly go to the enterprises to have plant practice, Gao Ju said that tthey are eager to cooperate with the enterprises to send more teachers to the enterprises for plant practice.
Chen Yun and his entourage visited the training room of Chemical & Mechanical Inspection & Maintenance and learned about the planning of the new Electromechanical training building of SPA. Chen Yun said that Covestro not only need students in Chemical Technology, but also students in Electromechanical Chemical Mechanical Inspection & maintenance. Covestro has a small-scale maintenance team and outsources part of the maintenance work to other companies. Covestro is willing to recommend the students of this major to the outsourcing companies to get practice or employment.
When visiting the Covestro Training Center and the Evonik Training Center, Gao Ju said that SPA always has very pleasant cooperation with German companies such as Covestro and Evonik and these enterprises have given great support to the development of SPA. In return, the school should try to meet the needs of the enterprise and cultivate the talents needed by the enterprise. Chen Yun said that the company will continue to cooperate with the school. The company is currently in a period of stable development, and needs about 20 front-line skilled talents each year. At the same time, the two sides can expand new areas of cooperation such as on-the-job training. Chen Yun said that the realization of AHK localization is of great help to promoting school-enterprise cooperation, which is cooperated with BASF. Covestron has the ability and responsibility to provide more practice opportunities for students of SPA and help promote the internationalization process of the school and cultivate more high-quality skilled talents who can meet the needs of modern environment friendly chemical.
The cooperation between SPA and Covestro has a long history. In 2002, SPA took the lead in cooperating with Bayer Germany ( Covestro), starting the training model of “order-oriented cultivation” . In 2008, SPA and Covestro jointly organized a student vocational skill competition, which was named “Covestro Cup” and became an annual event of SPA. At the same time, the two sides have realized the deep integration of school-enterprise by jointly developing teaching plans, establishing enterprise titled classes, constructing training bases, setting up Covestro Activities Day and Vocational Education Incentive Fund. More than 320 students have joined the company and their outstanding performance has been highly valued by the company.
