Leaders of SPA Visit Covestro Polymers (China) Co., Ltd

On April 12, vice principal Huang Hanjun and other 4 leaders of SPA went to the base of Covestro in the Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. They were warmly welcomed by Wang Keyun, human resources manager of Covestro Shanghai Integrated Base, Huang Rong, recruiter of the company and 11 factory production mangers from TDI, MDI, etc. The two sides talked about employees training, AHK localization projects and ways to expand school- enterprise cooperation. 

Zhu Shuiqing from the Chemical Engineering Department of SPA first gave a detailed introduction to the training content of Chemical Technology. There are four major categories, including basic categories, electromechanical instruments categories, units categories and comprehensive categories, with more than twenty training modules. Each training module can provide different levels of training and enterprises can integrate teaching content according to their own needs to realize personalized service. Meanwhile, enterprises can rely on the resources of SPA to carry out humanistic quality activities such as lectures, outdoors development training and fellowship activities, etc. The cooperation between SPA and Covestro has a long history. From the first Bayer Class, SPA started the “order-oriented cultivation” model of school-enterprise cooperation. Now SPA is to expand on-the-job training. The school looks forward to providing more specialized service to the enterprises in the future cooperation.

Huang Hanjun introduced the school-enterprise cooperation in the AHK(Chemical) localization project, compared the main body of German and Chinese vocational education, explained the new model of school-enterprise training students, clarified the time nodes for students to enter the enterprise for practice at each stage. He believes that students can better understand the production equipment by experiencing multiple learning processes from school to enterprises and then from enterprises to school so as to shorten the pre-job training time and help the students to indentify with the companies.

The production managers from different factories also talked freely about their own ideas about school-enterprise cooperation, believing that this training model is suitable for the Covestro Base. The trainees can be assigned to eleven factories. After a period of practice, their strong points and advantages can be found, so that more suitable positions can be chosen for them and the enterprises can find more suitable employees. It is advisable that the company HR continue to make in-depth contact with the school, clarify the specific requirements of each stage, and arrange for the graduates of SPA who have achieved good professional development in the Covestro to return to the school to interact with the younger students on campus, helping them get more information about the company.

After this visit, the two sides both hope that the school and the enterprise will work together in the future cooperation to get mutual benefit and win-win development.
