SPA Holds Young Core Teachers Study Class


On the afternoon of May 27, 2017, Lei Zhengguang, Professor from Shanghai Institute of Vocational & Technical Education, gave an exciting report to the young core teachers of SPA in the lecture hall of Chemical Engineering Training Building in south campus of SPA. Professor Lei Zhengguang majors in vocational education theory and practical teaching study. He spent 3 years in studying vocational education theory and practical study in Germany and made a lot of achievements in Sino-German vocational education comparison study and vocational education curriculum and teaching, etc. He has won a lot of honors in national and Shanghai excellent outcomes assessment. So all the young teachers cherished this learning opportunity very much.

The theme of Professor Lei Zhengguang's report is "The Study of Vocational School Teachers Professional Development —— on the Connotation and Training Methods of Technician-Teacher". Professor Lei Zhengguang began with three questions: "What —— What is teachers' professional development?" "Why —— Why should we implement teachers' professional development?" "How —— How to carry out teachers' professional development? "

In the report, the professionalism of teachers stresses not only the promotion of teacher groups' exterior profession but also the promotion of interior, individual technical standard and level of all the teachers. As teachers, we should understand and love education, promote our spiritual pursuit, reinforce occupational ethics, master education patterns, carry out teaching study, go deep into practice, broaden subject scope, strengthen individual professional knowledge and techniques to effectively improve the level and quality of education.

The tasks of education are always changing with the times. The role of the teacher is also changing according to the needs of society, parents and students.

Professor Lei Zhengguang especially emphasized that as vocational education teachers, the professional construction should adhere to the following 12 principles: mastery of essence of education, proficiency in vocational education ideas, relevant diplomas and titles, fine teaching abilities, excellent teaching levels, appropriate technician-teacher qualities, rich practical experience, strong education and research capabilities, skilled information technology, perfect individual image, noble moralities and mental & psychological health.

At last, Professor Lei Zhengguang made the 4 "Promotion Tasks" of vocational teachers clear to the teachers present: promoting students employment ability, promoting students' intellectual development, promoting students' personality perfection and promoting students' physique.

Through the report, the teachers know more clearly about their own missions and responsibilities and have more expectations for their future vocational development. They are firmly convinced that they will stick to their own posts, work harder, serve the society and inject more new energy and fresh vitality to the development of SPA.
