From June 1, 2017 to June 5, 2017, General Electromechanical Equipment Installment and Maintenance of 2017 National Vocational Students Skills Competition (Vocational School Group) was held in Wuxi Machinery and Electron Higher Professional and Technical School. 133 contestants from 32 provinces, cities or municipalities took part in the competition.
According to the notice of "Organizing Shanghai Vocational Schools and Colleges to Take Part in National Vocational Students Skills Competition" issued by Shanghai Municipal Education Committee, General Electromechanical Equipment Installment and Maintenance was not included in the 7th Starlight Project Competition, so Shanghai Municipal Education Committee organized the Shanghai tryouts. Electromechanical Department of SPA organized and assembled students for training at the beginning of March. On April 22, 2017, the Shanghai tryouts of General Electromechanical Equipment Installment and Maintenance were held. Two contestants from SPA were selected to take part in the national competition as the Shanghai delegation of General Electromechanical Equipment Installment and Maintenance.
From late April to late May, Electromechanical Department of SPA made earnest preparations for the national competition. This was the first time for SPA contestants to take such a national competition, so there had been little experience. However, the coaches overcame all the difficulties and devoted their spare time to learning from teachers of other schools, studying the samples of competitions by themselves, designing simulation questions, and inviting experts to give concrete guidance. They made detailed training plans for the contestants, summarized key knowledge and technical points, paid attention to cultivating contestants' capabilities, and gave technical and psychological guidance to contestants.
General Electromechanical Competition is a comprehensive electromechanical project integrated with mechanical installation, PLC programming and application of touch screens. It aims to test students' proficiency in using the entire machine. The national competition attracted many first-class contestants. It tested not only students' knowledge but also their psychology.
Contestants of SPA won the third prize in the end. The support and guidance from leaders of various departments and joint hard work of coaches and contestants contributed to the success. We hope for better performance in the next competition.
