On November 9, 2017, SPA and globally advanced Evonik Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. held the 10th Evonik Class Opening Ceremony in the meeting room of SPA's Chemical Engineering Training Building. Dr. Chen Jinqiu, general manager of Evonik Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., LTD., Cheng Danian, head of HR of Evonik Greater China Region, Zhang Hong, business partner of HR, Gao Ju, principal of SPA, Huang Hanjun, vice principal of SPA, leaders of General Administration Office, Chemical Engineering Department, Enrollment and Employment Office and other relevant departments, together with 22 excellent students of Evonik Class, attended the opening ceremony.
At the opening ceremony, Gao Ju delivered a warm welcome speech. He pointed out that SPA has cooperated with Evonik for a long time. The past 12 years have seen successful cooperation between SPA and Evonik. The cooperation of both sides has been deepened and strengthened and has greatly contributed to mutual win-win development. In 2005, SPA and Evonik (the original Degussa) signed a 10-year cooperation agreement. They adopted the form of establishing Evonik Class in SPA, which indicated the beginning of the order-oriented talent cultivation module. In 2008, Evonik invested and established Evonik (China) Chemical Training Base in SPA and began to make full use of the base to train employees from subsidiaries of Evonik located in various parts of China. In the past 12 years, SPA has adopted the Evonik Class order-oriented training module and trained about 300 employees for Evonik Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., LTD so far. Through Evonik (China) Summer Camp, SPA has trained over 200 front-line operators from various subsidiaries of Evonik Greater China cumulatively.
Dr. Chen Jinqiu said in his speech that Evonik has always attached great importance to human resources construction. Two-thirds of the front-line operators of Evonik graduated from SPA, so if Evonik Class hadn't cultivated and sent talent to Evonik, the enterprise wouldn't have been developing so quickly and successfully. He also mentioned that Evonik Summer Camp has contributed a lot to the vocational education training for the enterprise. Currently, SPA has sent two core professional teachers to have plant training in Evonik, so he is firmly convinced that the cultivation of talent will closely cater to the actual situations and needs of the enterprise. Meanwhile, he hoped that the students of Evonik Class will study harder, keep fit, focus on morality and comprehensive qualities to lay a solid foundation for their own career and development after graduation.
At the opening ceremony, the new class teacher and student representative of Evonik Class, on behalf of teaching and learning, respectively, expressed their sincere expectations and solemn promises for future study and life.
The success of the opening ceremony of the 10th Evonik Class symbolizes a steady move of SPA on the way to implementing the 13th Five-Year Plan (2016-2020) education development project, which will certainly make new contributions to accelerating the procedure of industry-education integration, promoting school-enterprise cooperation, improving quality and level of talent cultivation of SPA and boosting regional economic development.
