On July 2, 2018 Evonik APN Summer Camp Opening Ceremony co-organized by Evonik and SPA was held in the meeting room of SPA's Chemical Engineering Training Building. Dr. Claas Klasen, president of Evonik Asia Pacific North, Dr. Chen Jinqiu, general manager of Evonik Degussa Speciality Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., LTD., Cheng Danian, head of Human Resources of Evonik Greater China Region, Zhang Hong, business partner of Human Resources, Jane Gu, executive assistant to president, Greater China Region, Gao Ju, principal of SPA, Huang Hanjun, vice principal of SPA, Sun Shuguang, chairman of Labour Union of SPA, Ze Yubiao, director of General Administration Office of SPA, Shao Zhe, director of Chemical Engineering Department of SPA, Jiang Fangping, deputy director of General Administration Office of SPA, Jin Lei, class teacher of the summer camp, and all the trainees of the summer camp, attended the opening ceremony, which was hosted by Kira Tan from Human Resources of Evonik.
First of all, Gao Ju delivered a welcome speech on behalf of SPA. He expressed warmest welcome to all the trainees of summer camp and sincerest thanks to Evonik's constant support for SPA's development by recalling the past thirteen years' cooperation with Evonik. Gao Ju said that in the past thirteen years, SPA has developed a series of fruitful cooperation projects with Evonik in the fields of talent cultivation, major construction, teaching and education, etc. He added that 246 SPA graduates trained by both sides have been employed by Evonik, accounting for 59% of all the operators of Evonik. Through 11 years' summer camps, SPA has provided training for 367 front-line operators for Evonik, who are from various parts of China. Meanwhile, Gao Ju introduced SPA's overall development and international construction of majors to the people present, and he encouraged the trainees to study hard in the 2-week training, to improve their theoretical knowledge and operation skills, and to apply what will be learnt to their work after the training.
Dr. Claas Klasen, president of Evonik Asia Pacific North, extended his sincere thanks to SPA for the strong support that SPA has provided for the summer camps for Evonik front-line operators in the past years. He also introduced Evonik's recent development, including service distribution, development plans, strategic targets, etc. to all the trainees present. Dr. Claas Klasen pointed out that talent is the invaluable asset of the enterprise and the improvement of employees' quality is the key to the development of the enterprise, so everyone should treasure every opportunity to improve his abilities and morality in this digital era of rapid development, because learning shouldn't be stagnant.
Dr. Chen Jinqiu, general manager of Evonik Degussa Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., LTD. gave a brief introduction to Evonik MUSC. He said that by means of cooperation and collaboration, striving to build up first-class Evonik production site is the vision of MUSC. To Evonik, the front-line operators are the top leaders of the production line. Evonik has always put great emphasis on the training of front-line operators. He hoped that the trainees will accelerate their occupational ethics, safety awareness, operation skills, etc. in the summer camp.
Shao Zhe, director of Chemical Engineering Department, gave a brief introduction to Chemical Technology Professional Training from the following aspects: SPA's overall situation, faculty, training conditions, training activities, etc. He also gave detailed introduction to the training courses and modules, which have been optimized to cater to the needs of the trainees this year.
At the opening ceremony, trainees from different parts of China also gave self-introductions and expressed their expectations for the summer camp.
The summer camp, which will last 12 days, is the 11th Evonik Summer Camp since SPA established cooperation with Evonik. During the training, trainees will improve their professional capability and comprehensive quality by taking part in team quality development, EHSQ training, major module courses which include instrument detection, distillation, process control, etc.
