SPA Teachers Attend AEVO 2018 Chengdu Training Class

Since SPA and German Industry and Commerce Greater China signed dual system vocational education cooperation on July 13, 2018, SPA has organized a series of German AHK localization implementation faculty training activities to reinforce teachers' knowledge of German dual cultivation theory, to improve the abilities of developing localized courses and implementing the courses, and to lay a solid foundation for promoting AHK localization project.

From August 2 to August 9, 2018, SPA sent 12 teachers from Chemical Engineering, Economics & Trade and Fundamental Subjects Department to attend this 8-day AVEO (German Dual System Vocational Education Trainer Qualification Training) 2018 Chengdu Training. AVEO Certificate is a premise for the teachers engaged in dual system vocational education. Every trainee must pass both written and oral exams to get AEVO Certificate issued by German Industry and Commerce Greater China. 

Chen Xiaorong from German Industry and Commerce Greater China acted as the trainer for this training. He introduced briefly the overall development and main obligations of DIHK, IHK and AHK. German Industry and Commerce Greater China is the cooperation center for China dual vocational education, which is in charge of AHK Vocational Education Qualification Certification Examination. He also delivered a detailed 8-day training schedule from the following 4 action fields.

Action Field Ⅰ: Check training conditions and plan the training. Chen Xiaorong illustrated the necessity of enterprise training and the fundamental training conditions created by trainers for the enterprise in terms of benefits of enterprise training, plans and decisions of enterprise training and vocational education framework, etc.

Action Field Ⅱ: Carry out the preparations for the training. First of all, training plan should be made, including objectives, contents, general schedules and specific customized individual arrangements for every trainee. Next, suitable and safe training place, such as learning corner, training workshop, office, enterprise or classroom, is selected according to different industry needs. Related personnel should jointly assess the training plan, report the training plan to higher departments to guarantee trainers, places and logs, etc. The recruitment of trainees is also one part of preparations. Chen Xiaorong illustrated the new role of trainers from several key capability aspects, namely, professional ability, social ability, methodological ability, personality ability, etc. Moreover, he stressed the standards of selecting trainees, the importance of assessing trainees' qualities and acquisition of efficient information through exams and interviews in terms of occupational requirements.

 

Action Field Ⅲ: Implement the training. Chen Xiaorong introduced the significance of multi-dimensional teaching and establishment of professional authority by a cartoon titled Goat. Trainer's thorough mastery of learning essence is the basic principle of the success of the training. Trainer should lead trainees to have targeted learning and to form a complete activity module "Selecting information — Plan — Decision — Implementation — Check — Assessment" according to trainees' learning features and brain storage perceptive features. As trainers, they need to participate in trainees' learning in time, study their working performance carefully, give guidance if necessary, inspire their thinking and intervene in and prevent dangerous operations in time. In addition, harmonious teacher-student relationship is the premise for the training, so trainer should understand every trainee well, inspire his learning, conduct effective communications and give timely feedback to ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the training. Chen Xiaorong also introduced the training methods and organized trainees to learn in groups.

Action Field Ⅳ: Graduate. Chen Xiaorong explained the preparations and obligations of examination committee, trainer, and trainees respectively to guarantee the successful implementation of the training. Trainer should help trainees to reinforce the learning by comparing objectives with actual implementation performance. Examination committee is in charge of the implementation of exams, which is organized in the form of project to assess trainees' learning and practice.

In July, 2018, SPA successfully held 2018 AHK Chemical Operators Qualification Certification Examination for two classes of Chemical Engineering Department. Through the training, SPA teachers have a thorough understanding of obligations of German dual system trainers and know more systematically about AHK working procedures and methods to lay a solid foundation for future AHK training, to combine teaching and learning more closely with actual work, and to give guidance for the following job. Through the training, SPA teachers also know how to carry out teaching activities more efficiently, choose suitable media tools, stimulate students' learning interest, improve their learning efficiency, and give customized guidance and assistance to those students who are in need. 

Teachers from Chengdu Petrochemical Academy, Pinghu Vocational Polytechnic School, and employees from Volkswagen, attended the training as well.
