In order to better implement the tasks of 3+2 cultivation project, including training, examining, and transferring to college, etc. and to provide a chance of fully understanding the features and requirements of 3+2 project for freshmen majoring in Applied Chemical Technology and their parents, SPA held the opening ceremony & parent-teacher meeting of 2018 Applied Chemical Technology Class of 3+2 project on the afternoon of September 14, 2018. Gao Ju, principal of SPA, Shen Chenyang, dean of SPA, and Shao Zhe, director of Chemical Engineering Department of SPA, attended the meeting. Lu Kangdao, branch Party secretary of Higher Vocational School at Shanghai Institute of Technology, and Yu Ping, director of Higher Vocational School at Shanghai Institute of Technology were invited to attend the ceremony.
First of all, Shao Zhe introduced the professional features, teaching arrangements, practical training, school-enterprise cooperation and other aspects of 3+2 class to all the people present. He stated that SPA owns AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base. After students get relevant training and learning and pass the exams, they will obtain schooling certificate of SPA and German Vocational Qualification Certificate issued by AHK Shanghai, which is a crucial way of SPA's cultivating high-level, high-quality and compound talents.
Yu Ping introduced Higher Education College briefly from the following aspects: school-running situation, mechanism support, curriculum system, vocational development, curriculum plan, training objectives, etc., which help students to have a clearer idea of their future occupational orientation. At last, she encouraged freshmen to learn to know themselves well, to keep alive, to establish sense of responsibility and to march towards success through a process of five stages: preparedness for responsibility, specific goals, persistence, mastery of future and growing into maturity.
Lu Kangdao and Shen Chenyang reported the school-running characteristics of the secondary vocational education and higher vocational education respectively and shared experimental achievements of reform which have been made by means of collaboratively conducting teaching & research activities, examining and selecting students at the end of the first school year of 3+2 class and transferring to higher education at the end of the third school year of 3+2 class. Both sides reached consensus on combining disciplinary knowledge and reinforcing applied practice through integration and plan under the background of education reform.
In the end, Gao Ju expected freshmen to behave well, to study hard, to aim high, to keep learning tenacity, and to transform learning methods. Principal Gao Ju sincerely hoped that students would graduate from SPA smoothly and successfully.
The conclusion of the ceremony indicates a new beginning. We hope that freshmen will bear teachers' expectations in mind. We also expect that 3+2 project will be carried out successfully based on the long-lasting cooperation of two schools. Only with the help and guarantee of high-quality education can students live a more splendid life in the future.
