On September 22, 2018, the Second Sino-German Chemical Industry Professional Talents Roundtable Conference was held in the meeting room on the fourth floor of Hou De Building. Representatives from BASF, SPA, PanJin Vocational & Technical College and GIZ attended the conference, which was presided over by Zhang Yaowen, team leader of Sino-German Project on Dual Vocational Education in PanJin and Zigong.
Gao Ju, principal of SPA, delivered a welcome speech. He extended warm welcome to all the representatives, adding that SPA has been dedicated to promoting international construction of majors. In 2012, SPA cooperated with BBZ and Lise-Meitner School and jointly designed and developed eight core courses and selective courses, which opened up a new chapter of internationalization of the majors of Chemical Engineering. After that, SPA cooperated with AHK Shanghai Delegation to discuss the issues of introducing AHK International Qualification Certificate. On January 28, 2018, the unveiling ceremony of AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base was grandly held in SPA, which is the first AHK Chemical Vocational Training Base in China. So far, SPA has made great achievements in the international construction of majors. The acceleration of internationalization of majors greatly satisfies the urgent demand for high-quality chemical talents.
William Pu, head of human resources, Greater China of BASF (China) Co., Ltd., stated in his speech that BASF needs to deepen and optimize school-enterprise cooperation and to expand school-enterprise cooperation module to better promote the growth and development of BASF. Zhou Ming, president of PanJin Vocational & Technical College, briefly reviewed the development of the project. He said that only with joint collaboration and help of Sino-German training experience can the localization of German dual cultivation module be accomplished and school-enterprise win-win outcomes be achieved.
Dr. Smuda, senior specialist of GIZ, is SPA's old friend. He was once employed by BASF and delivered speeches to SPA teachers and students many years ago. He expressed that he was glad to know that China is attaching great importance to promoting vocational education and he felt it an honor to contribute to the development of China's vocational education. At present, he is employed by GIZ to give guidance to the development of chemical curriculum of PanJin Vocational and Technical College, so he hoped that he could make full use of this opportunity to communicate with and learn from friends and experts.
Gao Ju, principal of SPA, and Nicole Zhang, manager of human resources, Greater China of BASF (China) Co., Ltd., introduced the experience and specific measures of school-enterprise cooperation, respectively. Gao Ju said that since the school-enterprise cooperation was established, SPA has been deepening the connotation of school-enterprise cooperation by means of "8 Together" cultivation modules, namely, jointly establishing classes named after enterprises, jointly fostering teaching teams, jointly training enterprise employees, jointly holding skills competitions, jointly constructing training bases, jointly setting up dialogue mechanism, jointly exploring specialty development, and jointly establishing funds. On this basis, SPA has been exploring running the school internationally and has made great progress. Nicole Zhang started her speech from the demand for employees in the next five years. She introduced the detailed cooperation between BASF and SPA, especially mentioning BASF Class and BASF Summer Camp jointly held by two sides, which have benefited BASF quite a lot.
Later, the representatives conducted discussions on employment of students majoring in Chemical Engineering, students' employment intention, and dual cultivation module.

On March 16, 2017, the first Chemical Industry Experts Roundtable Conference was held in Shanghai. Representatives from five German chemical industries and German international cooperation organizations, PanJin Municipal Government, and PanJin Vocational & Technical College attended the conference to explore vocational education and school-enterprise cooperation. Representatives from BASF, Evonik and Covestro expressed their wishes to cooperate with PanJin Vocational & Technical College to accomplish win-win outcomes of vocational education. Since the first roundtable conference, the projects have been progressed consistently and systematically. From March, 2017 to August, 2018, experts of Germany and China have conducted over thirty tasks which are implemented in PanJin Vocational & Technical College. The priorities of the project are faculty training, design of school-enterprise cooperation, plan of mid-and-graduation examination, and authentication of dual cultivation system.
The second roundtable conference connects regions of two countries and witnesses different development phases of vocational education, which boosts the collaboration and cooperation of all sides to meet new challenges, to make complementary development, and to achieve win-win outcomes.
