On September 28, 2018, the opening ceremony of the 5th BASF Class of SPA was grandly held at Pudong Site of BASF. Dr. Morrison, senior vice president, Greater China, BASF, Jens Christian Bechtold, vice president of Human Resources, Greater China, BASF, William Pu, head of Human Resources, Greater China, BASF, Shen Weilin, vice director of Operations, BASF Chemicals Co., Ltd., Gao Ju, principal of SPA, Shao Zhe, director of Chemical Engineering Department of SPA, Jiang Fangping, deputy director of General Administration Office of SPA, teachers and students of 2018 BASF Class, attended the opening ceremony, which was co-presided over by Victoria Ma from BASF and Wang Yelin from SPA.
Dr. Morrison delivered a welcome speech on behalf of BASF. He said that he was very glad to witness the opening of the 5th BASF Class at Pudong Site. As the headquarters of BASF Group in Greater China, BASF has a great demand for talents. With the construction of new equipment at Pudong Site of BASF, a large number of new workforce are needed. He hoped that students would grow quickly at BASF Class and would become regular employees in the near future. Meanwhile, he also expressed gratitude to SPA for the efforts to help the development of BASF and to cultivate talents for BASF.
Gao Ju stated in his speech that SPA has been optimizing the joint talent cultivation module by conducting collaborations with BASF since the first BASF Class. The students cultivated at BASF Class possess better professional knowledge, practical skills, team cooperation, moral cultivation and enterprise culture, etc. Gao Ju hoped that the students of the 5th BASF Class will cherish the golden opportunity to study hard, understand enterprise culture, get familiar with production equipment to make a solid foundation for their future posts at BASF.
Jens Christian Bechtold extended gratitude to SPA for its assistance and trust during the long-term cooperation. He expressed that the support of human resources is the pillar of the development of the enterprise. BASF attaches great importance to the training of technical skills, so he hoped that BASF students will study hard at school, acquire knowledge and skills, and promote professional quality.
Class teacher, Zhang Peng, expressed his expectations and promises. Shi Jiachang, graduate representative, recalled his growth at BASF, expressed thanks to SPA and BASF, and encouraged the new BASF Class students to study harder and make more progress.
At the opening ceremony, Jens Christian Bechtold and Gao Ju awarded the certificates of joint cultivation to the 2015 BASF Class students.
After the ceremony, leaders of BASF and SPA conducted discussions on expanding cooperation modules and promoting construction of majors, etc. School and enterprise had in-depth exploration on the countermeasures of talent cultivation module to define the direction of future cooperation under the background of German Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025.
"Decision on speeding up the development of modern vocational education" issued by State Council points out that vocational schools should strengthen the international exchange and cooperation, promote the development module of vocational education suited to Chinese enterprises and exports of products, put great emphasis on localized talents befitting overseas production and management of Chinese enterprises. Under the background of integration of global economy, the acceleration of industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation is the general trend of the development of economy and inevitable course of improving the cultivation quality of talents in the process of transmission and development. The opening of the 5th BASF Class opened up a new chapter of school-enterprise cooperation. The school-enterprise cooperation between SPA and BASF is bound to achieve more fruitful outcomes.
