On October 24, 2018, accompanied by Zhang Difang, deputy district mayor of Jinshan, Hou Jinhua, vice director of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Administration Commission, conducted a research on Shanghai Petrochemical Academy. The research group was briefed issues including the current development, plan and confronting problems of SPA by Gao Ju, principal of SPA, through which they further understood the characteristics and achievements of talents cultivation of vocational education. They also visited the training construction and new campus of SPA.
In recent years, SPA has earnestly accelerated the development strategy of industry-education combination & school-enterprise cooperation, proactively cooperated with AHK (Shanghai), introduced AHK International Vocational Qualification Certificate, innovated dual vocational educational model with its own characteristics, promoted internationalization of majors, and fostered the cradle of craftsmanship. AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base has been constructed to create the highland of vocational education. Localized criteria has generated wide radiating impacts on many provinces and cities, which enables SPA to play the leading role as a national demonstration school. SPA adheres to the combination of pre-occupational and post-occupational education and substantially serves a number of famous enterprises at home and abroad including the ones located in SCIP through international first-class talents cultivation and training, which has helped to achieve mutual win-win development of school and regional economy. The research group fully affirmed the development features and achievements of SPA.
Hou Jinhua extended gratitude to SPA, which takes the lead in the vocational education, for its irreplaceable contributions to the development of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park. She added that SCIP, which is an important sector in Shanghai chemical industry and Shanghai real economy, faces new challenges and missions. In the respect of the interactive development of school and industry park, she put forward three proposals: reinforcing school-enterprise cooperation in line with the developing trends of industry and enterprises to achieve mutual progress; strengthening the combination of school-enterprise cooperation and international talents cultivation to gain more advantages for further development; intensifying collaboration and coordination between SPA and SCIP to achieve win-win results and to boost the world-class industry park construction of SCIP.
Zhang Difang highly applauded the long-term, close, reciprocal cooperation between SPA and SCIP. She also put forward three expectations for SPA's development: accelerating the school-enterprise targeted cooperation to meet the needs of regional economy development and transformation and upgrading of industry; broadening the regional collaboration to promote the construction of AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base and to give full play to its leading role of chemical vocational education; enhancing international exchange and cooperation to further deepen international construction of majors to create the brand of Jinshan Vocational Education. In the meanwhile, she also hoped that with the joint efforts of SPA and SCIP, more potentials will be tapped to accelerate the cooperation and to achieve integrated win-win development.
