On November 25, 2018, a 24-member cheering squad of SPA took part in SYGF Cheerleading Competition (Secondary Vocational Group) in Shanghai Pharmaceutical School. The team won the 3rd prize in the projects of compulsory demonstration routines and self-made flower balls.
With strong support from school administrative leaders, leaders of Students' Affairs Division, various departments, class teachers and parents, Huang Xiaoling, instructor of the team, overcame all the difficulties. They made full use of their spare time including morning, noon break and weekends to carry out more practice and rehearsals. At the beginning of November, after finishing the task of the 9th P.E. Festival & 18th Track Meet of SPA, Huang Xiaoling and her students immediately put their efforts into cheerleading training. There were only two weeks left before the competition. The students got rid of various difficulties and had serious and painstaking training within the limited time span. They finished learning two routines without any complaint. Every day they practised until 5:30 p.m. and they even spent their weekends in perfecting the skills. The firm pioneering spirit that the students demonstrated in the competition won honor and splendor for SPA. They neither turn arrogant in victory nor lose heart in defeat. It is hoped that they will make fresh progress to present better performance and achieve better results next year with their unremitting efforts.
The cheerleading competition not only enriches students' campus cultural life and improves students' overall quality as well as appreciation ability but also strengthens students' will and fosters their spiritual quality of hard work. These precious spiritual wealth will forever inspire students in their whole life.
