Since 2008, nine students' vocational skill competitions have been held successfully. There are 33 items in this year's competition, including eight categories like generic category, chemical engineering, machining, electrical & electronic, information technology, tourism, finance & trade. Based on the guideline of "Emphasizing Fundamental Skills; Facing all Students", all departments of SPA have attached great importance by making elaborate preparations, mobilization and propaganda. The competition is aimed to fully showcase students' spirit of bravery, practice and longing for showing themselves and to create a fine competition atmosphere of "Everyone focuses on skills; every class has contestants".
Lin Guoxin announced the list of winners of the 9th "Covestro Cup" Students' Vocational Skill Competition. There were 31 items for the 9th "Covestro Cup" Students' Vocational Skill Competition, attracting 1552 students to enter for various items, among whom 459 students won awards: 66 first prize winners, 144 second prize winners and 249 third prize winners. The distinguished guests of Covestro and SPA leaders presented the prizes to the winners. Zhu Tianli, who is from 160 Chemical Engineering Class, won the first prize in the Oral English competition of the 9th "Covestro Cup" Students' Vocational Skill Competition. As a winner representative, he gave a speech, in which he thanked school-enterprise cooperation for jointly holding students' vocational skill competition, which is a platform and opportunity for students of different majors and grades to learn from each other, make new friends, communicate with each other, learn professional skills and show their capabilities and demeanor. He said that the best part he had gained from the competition was his confidence and courage.
Xu Wenming, who has tutored many students to win awards in National Vocational School Skill Competition several times, shared his experience with the attendees. He told the students to face the competition with a positive attitude. The key to winning the competition is the control of the time. When confronting something unexpected, they should be calm and adjust their mentality promptly. "Covestro Cup" Students' Vocational Skill Competition is an excellent platform for communication and exchange, through which students are assessed their knowledge and teachers are evaluated their teaching, said Xu Wenming.
Mei Dong recalled the fruitful outcomes of Covestro and SPA in the past 16 years' strategic cooperation. He noted that many graduates from SPA have demonstrated their professional demeanor and grown into the backbone force of the site because of their professional skills and knowledge, rich practical experience and persistent character after they entered Covestro. He hoped that all the students present will make the best of the time at school to reinforce their knowledge storage and improve their level of skills. They are also hoped to make positive progress, strive for their best performance, master sufficient vocational skills and harvest confidence and courage for a brighter future.
The 10th "Covestro Cup" Students' Vocational Skill Competition officially started. The competition concerning electromechanical integration equipment installation and commissioning, robotic technology application, pipe installation, restaurant service, etc., have kicked off. The guests viewed students' clubs exhibition, pipe installation, chemical simulation, etc.
Through "Covestro Cup" Students' Vocational Skill Competition, outstanding contestants will be selected to take part in the 8th Shanghai "Star Project" Vocational School Skill Competition.
