On March 6, 2019, a group led by Yao Yan, principal of Pinghu Vocational Secondary School, and Yan Jin, vice principal of Pinghu Vocational Secondary School visited Shanghai Petrochemical Academy to conduct further discussions and exchanges on international construction of Chemical Engineering. Principal Gao Ju, Vice Principal Huang Hanjun and other SPA leaders attended the exchanges.
Yao Yan gave a brief introduction to the acceleration work of international construction of specialties in Pinghu Vocational Secondary School. They expected to further learn from SPA's advanced experience in the localization of innovative dual module to boost the smooth implementation of Chemical Engineering curriculum building, faculty training and so on.
Jiang Jing, director of Chemical Engineering Department of Pinghu Vocational Secondary School, listed the difficulties emerging in the process of international construction of specialties. She pointed out that their teachers have attended two rounds of training, so they have obtained some perspectives on the teaching of dual module. She expected to conduct periodic teaching and research activities with SPA, invite SPA teachers to Pinghu Vocational Secondary School and apply other approaches to have SPA provide further constructive guidance on faculty training, teaching material development, etc., which will finally contrinute to addressing the perplexity on how to carry out effective and practical teaching in Pinghu Vocational Secondary School.
Gao Ju expressed that Pinghu Vocational Secondary School and SPA have maintained deep friendship and fine cooperation for a long time. As AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base, SPA fully supports Pinghu Vocational Secondary School in the building of AHK Sino-German (Pinghu) Chemical Vocational Training Center. SPA welcomes teachers from Pinghu Vocational Secondary School to learn from each other. It is anticipated that more collaboration and communication will be strengthened in order to jointly improve the training quality of chemical talent.
Huang Hanjun noted that "Dual" is the priority when promoting the localization of dual module. Localization should be carried out in line with school's specific needs and situation. It is crucial for both school and enterprise to identify their respective roles in the joint cultivation of talents and to design feasible teaching plans and talent cultivation orientation and other top-level documents catering to the actual situation of school.
After the meeting, the group visited SPA's Chemical Engineering Training Building and observed a lecture "Installation Technology" conducted by Hu Dijun, a teacher from Chemical Engineering Department of SPA.
