On April 8, 2019, in order to strengthen communication and exchanges with Shanghai Petrochemical Academy, innovate talent cultivation models, and improve the quality of cultivation, a group led by Jens Christian Bechtold, vice president of BASF Greater China, Alexander Lang and Stefan Bunzel, two training experts from BASF headquarters, came to visit SPA. Chen Liwei, deputy director of Vocational Education of German Indusry and Commerce Greater China, also paid a visit to SPA simultaneously. Principal Gao Ju and Vice Principal Huang Hanjun met with the guests warmly.
The guests visited Covestro Training Base, Evonic China Chemical Training Base, Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Chemical Training Base, Numerical Control Open Training Center, Chemical Technology Open Training Center, AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base, etc. Principal Gao Ju accompanied the visitors and gave a detailed presentation on the usuages of various training devices, students' practical training and other issues of the training experts' concerns. Through the communication with SPA and German Industry and Commerce Greater China, BASF training experts gave high praise to the training centers and bases provided for students, which can offer students an authentic occupational environment.
After the visit, three sides came to the meeting room located on the first floor of the Chemical Engineering Training Building to conduct in-depth communication. Principal Gao Ju introduced basic information of SPA to the guests, reviewed a series of fruitful cooperation projects with BASF and expected future prosperous visions of mutual cooperation with BASF.
In 2003, SPA and BASF jointly established the first BASF Class, which symbolized a bright beginning for school-enterprise win-win cooperation. In the past 16 years' cooperation, both sides have maintained close cooperation not only in pre-vocational education but also in post-vocational education. They have deepened school-enterprise cooperation by means of jointly setting up the training plan of implementing dual system talent, jointly developing curriculum in line with international standards, co-constructing Chemical Industry & Human Science Exhibition Gallery, etc. So far, 7 BASF Classes have been established accumulatively, which have trained 179 students for BASF. 3 sessions of BASF Summer Training Camps have been held, which have trained 54 BASF employees. School and enterprise have continued to innovate talent cultivation models. In 2015, SPA cooperated with BASF and BBZ and began to implement international standards to cultivate technical personnel for BASF. In 2017, SPA, BASF and German Industy and Commerce Greater China began to reconstruct the "dual" talent training model. Meanwhile, SPA and BASF actively promote high-level managing personnel training project via close cooperation.
Gao Ju also introduced the information of AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base. Since it was unveiled on January 26, 2018, AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base has delivered positive demonstration effects. SPA supports Chengdu Petrochemical Academy, Pinghu Vocational Polytechnic School and Central Vocational School of Shouguang to build AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Centers by strengthening mutual exchanges, providing guidance, promoting teachers' training, etc. In view of SPA's close cooperation with German enterprises and AHK, the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research has certified SPA as "the Training Base for Highly Skilled Talents of Sino-German Chemical Industry". The training base of SPA has developed corresponding training systems based on the training objectives of 3 types: first-line operator, team leader & technician, master, which can sunstantially satisfy the needs of various talent for the enterprise. Gao Ju emphasized the training framework of Meister (Ⅰ), which is aimed to cultivate team leaders.
Jens Christian Bechtold sincerely appreciated all the efforts SPA has spared to cultivate talent for the enterprise. He noted that he was glad to see the training service of SPA has been expanded to the training of enterprise employees who have already gained certain working experience. He expected to reinforce the cooperation with SPA and shared the experience and methods of improving employees' techniques and abilities. The application of virtual reality in the field of chemical training practice was demonstrated on the spot by BASF training experts. Jens Christian Bechtold hoped to explore further cooperation with SPA and jointly face the opportunities and challenges brought by German Industry 4.0 and Made in China 2025.
