On May 15, 2019, the 3rd Urban Education Development Alliance Conference was held in Jinshan, Shanghai. In the afternoon, at one of the sub-venues of the conference, exchange activity entitled "Vocational Education Cooperation and Collaboration" was held at Shanghai Petrochemical Academy, which was attended by members of the alliance, accompanied by Zheng Ying, director of Jinshan Education Bureau.
The delegation started with a tour to the History Museum of SPA. The developmental course, magnificent achievements and spiritual connotation of the school showed on the big screen, display light boxes and display boards won visitors' praise and recognition. Next, they visited the Chemical Industry and Human Science Exhibition Gallery, Cross-enterprise Training Center, Numerical Control Training Building and Chemical Engineering Training Building. The neat environment, normative practical training, advanced instrumentation and unique operation mode drew the visitors' interest. During the trip, the guests were briefed on the features and functions of various training programs, characteristics of school-enterprise co-construction of training bases and interesting and thought-provoking concept combination during the course of construction. All the guests gave high praise to the training construction and specialty development of SPA.
After the tour, the visitors conducted discussion communication on vocational education development and sharing in the multi-functional hall of SPA. Gao Ju, principal of SPA, gave a report on SPA's developmental course, specialty construction and other related issues to the guests, emphasizing the school-running features of school-enterprise cooperation and internationalization construction. He noted that since the founding of SPA four decades ago, the school has been adhering to the principles of closely combining operation of the school with regional economical and social development, accelerating school-enterprise cooperation and industry-education combination, and creating an eight-in-one school-enterprise development community with the support of domestic and foreign renowned enterprises. SPA has been insisting on learning from advanced vocational education experience like German dual system, innovating internationalization of specialties, and constructing localized dual talent cultivation mode with international standards. The school also sticks to open running, optimizing the new school-running system of four-in-one "Government, Industry, Enterprise, School". Up to now, SPA has cultivated tens of thousands of high-quality first-line operators and highly-skilled talents, achieved leap frog development of the school, enhanced the ability of serving economical and social development, and successfully embarked on an open school-running way with distinctive characteristics as a national vocational education reform and development demonstration school. The inspection tour sang highly of SPA's specialty internationalization construction, school-enterprise cooperation mode and the great achievements it has made. They earnestly expected to strengthen study and exchange among cities of alliance to complement each other and lay a solid foundation for education reform, innovation, cooperation and communication.
The 1st Urban Education Development Alliance Conference was held in Baotou, Inner Mongolia and the 2nd Urban Education Development Alliance Conference was held in Baoding, Hebei. Today, the 3rd Urban Education Development Alliance Conference is grandly held in Jinshan, Shanghai. Educational experts and professionals from 23 cities gather in Jinshan to conduct discussions and exchanges on the theme of "Advancing towards a Fair and Quality Education". Government officials, education bureau directors and excellent headmasters from alliance cities come together to explore education cooperation development linkage mechanism among cities to promote development with openness and to achieve win-win results by cooperation. It is expected to build up platforms for communication and cooperation among elementary, secondary and vocational education, tap the advantages of all the schools of the alliance to construct an open and sharing educational ecological system and make improvements. We sincerely expect that under the banner of Urban Education Development Alliance, we will join hands together to make new achievements with concerted efforts.
