On June 6, 2019, AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy and Maoming Polytechnic signed a cooperation agreement entitled as "AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base Supporting Maoming Polytechnic in Constructing Sino-German (Maoming) Chemical Vocational Training Center". The signing of agreement symbolized the demonstration and influence of AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base has radiated to South China. The base will firmly accelerate the localization of dual talent cultivation in chemical schools in South China and proactively promote the international level of vocational education there. Chen Liwei, deputy director of German AHK Vocational Education, Gao Ju, principal of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy, Zhang Qing, president of Maoming Polytechnic, and other related leaders and teachers of both schools, attended the signing ceremony, which was presided over by Liang Deping, vice president of Maoming Polytechnic.
At the signing ceremony, Gao Ju delivered a speech on behalf of AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base. He noted that since AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base was founded in SPA on Jan. 26, 2018, it has made complementary advantages between school, chemical cross-enterprise training center and world renowned chemical enterprises which have established and maintained cooperation with SPA, constructed a training collaborative model consisting of school, cross-enterprise training center and enterprises, finished the localized standards of AHK chemical operators, and provided numerous high-quality technical personnel for enterprises under the guidance of AHK Sino-German Chemical Specialty Construction Steering Committee and AHK (China) Chemical Examination Committee. In addition, the base has played a leading role of demonstration and radiation, expedited related work of national vocational schools like curriculum and course development, resource exploration, teacher training, etc., and implemented the localization of dual talent cultivation model. SPA will try to assist Maoming Polytechnic in efficiently carrying out school-enterprise cooperation project, constructing training base inside the school, setting up cross-enterprise training base, conforming to international standards and introducing international qualification certificate, and forming a school-enterprise cooperative talent training model with international concepts and standards.
On behalf of Maoming Polytechnic, Zhang Qing extended sincere thanks to German AHK and AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base for their support. Zhang Qing noted that Maoming Polytechnic will stick to the school-running orientation of "Characteristics, Collectivization, Internationalization". Maoming Polytechnic will strive to introduce AHK into its chemical specialty and enhance the school's overall connotation construction. It will make full use of its regional chemical advantages, combine resources between school and enterprises, learn from the advanced experience of AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base, promote dual talent cultivation model and lay a solid foundation for the school's future sustainable development.
Chen Liwei, deputy director of German AHK Vocational Education, extended warm congratulations on the signing of agreement on behalf of AHK. She noted that Maoming Polytechnic is the first cooperation unit of AHK in South China, so she earnestly hoped that the tri-lateral cooperation will be successful. It is expected that the three parties will jointly set an example of vocational education dual talent cultivation, establish long-term efficient cooperation projects, continually improve the quality of talent cultivation, and finally better satisfy the needs of high-quality technical personnel of chemical industry and enterprises in Maoming.
After the signing ceremony, with the company of President Zhang Qing, Principal Gao Ju and his party visited the labs and training rooms of Maoming Polytechnic and conducted exchanges and discussions on views of improving specialty construction and cooperation with the teachers from the Chemical Engineering Department of Maoming Polytechnic.
