In order to boost school-enterprise dual talent cultivation and to accelerate the service function of vocational education, on the morning of June 20, 2019, Shanghai Petrochemical Academy and Invista Nylon Chemical (China) Co., Ltd. signed a cooperation agreement in the conference hall of SPA.
According to the agreement, Invista Nylon Chemical (China) Co., Ltd. will fully tap its advantage of resources and talents under the principles of "complementary advantage, resources sharing, school-enterprise collaboration, mutual development and benefits". Invista Nylon Chemical (China) Co., Ltd. will also support SPA in co-developing courses, teachers' on-site practice, students' internship and training, etc. Meanwhile, SPA will pragmatically play to its strengths of resources and rich experience of vocational school education and post-vocational talent training. School and enterprise have co-established an "Invista Class" and applied Sino-German AHK new standards to train high-quality technical personnel with sense of service, innovation and sustainable development capability. Taking the signing of cooperation agreement as a new starting point, both sides are expected to promote their respective development, to better serve the high level development of domestic nylon industry, and finally to contribute to the realization of the construction goal of world first-class petrochemical base of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park.

Li Jiong, Director of Human Resources Department, SCIP AC, Wu Ying, Deputy Director of Jinshan Education Bureau, Gao Ju, Principal of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy, Lin Guoxin, Party Secretary of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy, Gary R. Knight, VP of Integrated Nylon Operation, Chen Mingbin, Operations Director of China AND Project and other related leaders attended the ceremony and witnessed the signing of the agreement. Gao Ju and Gary R. Knight delivered speeches on behalf of SPA and Invista, respectively, and signed the strategic cooperation agreement.

Gao Ju made the remarks in his speech that both sides have taken the advantage of the company's newly-invested one billion US dollars ADN project to explore the talent cultivation project under the AHK localized standards. He expected that teachers of relevant specialties will devotedly teach students professional knowledge and skills and strive to train graduates welcomed by enterprises. Gary R. Knight noted that Invista is one of the largest producers of polymer and fiber. The newly-invested ADN plant is a "future plant" boasting the combination of robotic automatic manufacturing and artificial intelligence management. The ADN project with advanced technology will fill the blank in domestic nylon industry. He earnestly expected to conduct long-term cooperation with SPA to train high-quality technical personnel suited to the demands of enterprise's future development and to achieve common development of the school and the enterprise.

Li Jiong and Wu Ying extended their congratulations on the school-enterprise cooperation and put forward expectations, respectively. Li Jiong said that Shanghai Chemical Industry Park is a domestic first-rate integrated petrochemical industry development base. He expressed gratitude to enterprises for their long-term trust in and support for the development of Shanghai Chemical Industry Park and to SPA for its irreplaceable talent support for the development of the enterprises located in the industry park. It is expected that SCIP and SPA will collaborate to beef up the common development and to accelerate the close and deep cooperation. Wu Ying pointed out that Jinshan Education Bureau will also be fully supporting the cooperation between the school and the enterprise, creating all favorable conditions so as to ensure the in-depth and solid development of the bilateral cooperation. She hoped that SPA will take the signing ceremony as a golden chance to grasp the historic opportunity of Jinshan District's promoting the construction of "two areas and one fort". It is also hoped that SPA will create new achievements and write a new chapter in the reform of vocational education and serve the economical development of enterprises.

After the signing ceremony, with the company of Gao Ju and other related teachers of SPA, Gary R. Knight and his party visited the School History Museum, Chemical Industry and Human Science Gallery, Cross-enterprise Training Center, Chemical Engineering Training Building, etc. to further understand SPA's overall development and implementation of training practice.

The signing of cooperation is a new attempt to deepen school-enterprise cooperation and to serve US-funded enterprises, which is a new breakthrough in SPA's accelerating the talent cultivation under AHK dual vocational education standards. It is of great significance for both SPA's future acceleration of school-enterprise cooperation diversity and the demonstration and enhancement of achieving talent dual cultivation.
