On the morning of July 2, 2019, Shen Lei, director of Occupational Skill Testing Authority of Chemical Industry, Liu Peitian and Zhang Chenguang from Occupational Skill Testing Authority of Chemical Industry, Yuan Kun, professor from Beijing Industrial Technician College, and engineers from Festo Shanghai Pudong visited Shanghai Petrochemical Academy to discuss the preparations for the National Chemical Production Technology Staff Competition, National Water Treatment Technology Staff Competition and National Water Treatment Technology Student Competition. Principal Gao Ju, Vice Principal Huang Hanjun and teachers from the Chemical Engineering Department attended the meeting.
At first, Shen Lei elaborated on the preparatory procedures and schedules for the teachers present, emphasizing the highlight that the competition modules of the National Water Treatment Technology Competition totally simulate those of the World Skill Competition, which is aimed at providing teams with more chances to accumulate experience and making full preparations for taking part in the World Skill Competition next year. Gao Ju extended thanks to Occupational Skill Testing Authority of Chemical Industry for their trust in our school. He also promised to make great efforts to provide excellent preparations and service for the competition. All departments will collaborate to set up work plan, make progress actively and make precautionary plan to ensure the success of the competition. Huang Hanjun expected that the specialty teachers of the water treatment technology preparation group will get some training in relevant schools or institutions to get familiar with every skill practice module and to lay a solid foundation for formulating various assessment. It is also expected that all the specialty teachers will take advantage of the chance to improve their professionalism.
Next, the experts and the teachers from SPA were divided into two groups to continue their discussions on Chemical Production Technology Competition and Water Treatment Technology Competition, respectively.
The opportunity of holding national competition will promote the future development of SPA, so SPA staff will be sure to make concerted efforts to ensure the success of the holding of the competition.
