On August 27, SPA, German AHK and Covestro Successfully held the second Meister Certification project meeting in the Chemical Engineering Training Building in SPA. Huang Yu, director of Basic Chemicals and Industrial Operations Department of Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai, Kui Wenjia, manager of Qualification of Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai, Gao Ju, principal of SPA, Huang Hanjun, vice principal of SPA, nearly 20 leaders and experts from Covestro and 19 professional teachers from SPA attended the meeting, which was presided over by Yan Xiaoli.
GaoJu recalled the nearly 20 years of close cooperation between SPA and Covestro. Both sides have created a community of shared future for school and enterprise by jointly setting up Covestro Class, jointly establishing dialogue mechanism, jointly building training base, jointly fostering teaching faculty, jointly training enterprise employees, jointly seeking for specialty development, jointly holding skills competition, and jointly setting up scholarship. The deep integration of industry and education has raised the profile of SPA and promoted the substantial development of Covestro. At present, SPA, German AHK and Covestro are actively accelerating Meister Certification project, the aim of which is to cultivate excellent team leaders and potential production managers for the enterprise. Gao Ju introduced the overall background of the introduction of AHK into SPA, the general situation of AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base and Sino-German AHK vocational qualification certification system.
Huang Yu said that Meister Class is greatly welcomed by the enterprise, which is a strong push for vocational education development. He sincerely hoped both sides will conduct close cooperation to jointly make Meister Certification practical.
Kui Wenjia introduced the basic facts of AHK Meister Class at Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai. Huang Hanjun briefly introduced the general education system of AHK Meister Class. He pointed out that with the joint efforts of both sides, training framework, system and requirements have been formulated, however, which still need improving before pragmatic implementation. He also hoped that Covestro experts and SPA teachers present at the meeting will make meticulous communication and docking to optimize the project and make it practical as soon as possible.
The experts and the teachers of Meister Certification project team conducted heated discussions on content framework, teaching objectives, current teaching resources and reached consensus. They also discussed about the timetable, resources, etc. and reached a preliminary consensus.
Next, leaders from Covestro visited Cross-enterprise Training Center, Chemical Engineering Training Building and other practical training sites of SPA. The applauded the facilities and put forward wonderful suggestions as well.
The innovative strategy of trilateral efforts of SPA, German AHK and Covestro to push forward Meister Certification project is another important strategy SPA has taken to respond to the requirements of the national call for vocational education reform, to satisfy enterprises’ urgent need for high level talent and to carry out international cooperation to run the school.
