It is reported that the Occupational Skill Competition of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation has become the highest-level, most influential skills competition which has the widest range of participants. Every year, domestic petrochemical giants, Global Fortune 500, local famous enterprises and colleges and schools take an active part in the competition to jointly promote the skilled talent team construction and to beef up the high-quality development of petroleum and chemical industry.

She noted that Shanghai Petrochemical Academy, as one of the two organizers of the competition, is "the cradle of craftsmanship; the highland of vocational education" in Jinshan district. SPA has constructed an "eight into one" school-enterprise community with shared cooperative benefits, built up localized dual vocational education model with international standards, cultivated hundreds of thousands of high-quality technical talents for regional economy construction and social development, and become the bridgehead of chemical vocational education in shanghai and even the whole country. The 11th Occupational Skill Competition of China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation is a component of a series of competitions of 2019 China Skills Competition. Themed "Promote the spirit of craftsmanship and foster a culture of craftsmanship", this year's competition is composed of General Chemical Control Worker and Industrial Waste Water Treatment Competition (Workers Group). 77 teams, 196 contestants in all, will take part in the competition of General Chemical Control Worker and Industrial Waste Water Treatment Competition (Workers Group). Yan Yanlong and Chen Yapeng made a pledge on behalf of contestants and judges, respectively.
The competition is hosted by China Petroleum and Chemical Industry Federation, China Employment Training Technical Guidance Center and National Committee of the China Union of Energy and Chemical Geology, organized by Skill Testing Center of Chemical Industry and Shanghai Petrochemical Academy, assisted by East Simulation Software Technology Co., Ltd., Zhejiang Supcon Scientific Instrument Co., Ltd., Festo China Co., Ltd., China Chemical News Agency, Shanghai Chemical Vocational Education Group, Jinshan Vocational Education Group and JinshanPetroluem and Chemical Industry Society. The competition is a national category Ⅱcompetition.

High-quality technical and skilled talents from renowned enterprises and colleges and schools of petroleum and chemical industry compete in the arena and learn from each other. 72 National Technical Experts, 3 National May Day Labor Medals, 1 China Skills Award have stood out in the previous competitions, which have greatly accelerated the team construction of petroleum and chemical industry skilled talents and made irreplaceable contributions to serving the development of the enterprises and preparing for the World Skills Competition via laying a solid foundation and providing fine atmosphere.
