On Nov. 7, in order to promote bilateral cooperation between two regions and to jointly foster urgently-needed technical talents, a 7-member group of BASF and Zhanjiang Technician visited Shanghai Petrochemical Academy. The tour is aimed to explore and accelerate technical talent cultivation strategy and serve the integrated construction of BASF's Zhanjiang project. Gao Ju, principal of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy and Du Haiyan, deputy Party secretary of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy met with the guests warmly.
At the meeting, Gao Ju introduced the basic school-running information with the guests and shared successful experience in school-enterprise cooperation and specialty construction. Eileen Li, senior manager of human resources of Greater China, BASF, expounded on the need of cultivation and training of technical personnel in the Zhanjiang project. She sincerely thanked SPA for providing assistance and advice on the cultivation of chemical talents and expressed high expectations for cooperation between two schools. Luo Bin, vice president of Zhanjiang Technician College, introduced the fundamental information of the school, explored efficient methods of vocational education cooperation by focusing on setting up chemistry specialty and serving BASF's Zhanjiang integrated project construction. Both sides also conducted deep exchanges on chemical specialty setup, dual talents training strategy, promotion of faculty capabilities, training construction, etc. Further communication and wonderful prospects are expected in the near future.
The group also visited the School History Museum, Chemical Industry and Human Science Gallery, Cross-enterprise Training Center and Chemical Engineering Training Building to have a clear understanding of the operation and management of the training rooms and draw inspiration from SPA's advanced and rich experience.
