For prompting the cooperation between enterprises and schools, the production-education integration, regional economic development and the ability to serve for vocational education and training, SPA held the grand German AHK Meister Certificate—the 1st Covestro Chemical Master Class Launch Ceremony & the 10th Covestro Cup Vocational Skills Competition Award Ceremony on January 17.
Representatives of the government officials, directors and enterprise presidents attended the ceremony. The Meister Certificate program is an international level training program aiming at junior management training. Referring to the German Meister Certificate Standard, it is a program initiated jointly by SPA, AHK and Covestro for training workshop team leaders in chemical enterprises. Trainees who are qualified can be awarded a Meister Certificate issued by German AHK.
In the ceremony, Mr. Gao Ju, on behalf of SPA, expressed a hearty welcome to all the distinguished guests. He shared the experience regarding the discussion and research and the completion of the plausible training plan among SPA, AHK and Covestro over the past year. He also introduced the valuable experience and remarkable achievements delivered by their close cooperation for achieving the in-depth cooperation of industry and education. In his speech, he expressed heartfelt thanks to all leaders and experts supporting and caring about the development of SPA.
In the ceremony, Dr. Chen Yun declared the winning name list of the 10th Covestro Cup Vocational Skills Competition Award. And later, award presenters presented the awards to winners.
In Britta Buschfeld’s speech, she introduced the fundamentals of the German AHK, and their original aspiration and mission for serving the German-owned enterprises in China and improving the development of regional vocational education. He also shared the destiny and outcomes arising from the close cooperation of schools and enterprises in China. He stressed that localization was the key and important point for the success of the Sino-German vocational education cooperation. He outlined the new measures for deepening the bilateral vocational education and hoped that SPA could continue to play the important exemplary role and gain more achievements in chemical vocational education and training.
In Klaus Schäfer’s speech, he highly affirmed the successful practice of continued production-education integration between the Covestro and SPA over the past 18 years. He lauded the successful opening of the German Meister Certificate project. He hoped that both parties could deepen the strategic cooperation, nurture more talents for chemical industry, and demonstrate the splendor of the production-education integration in chemical industry.
Mr. Gao Ju, Ms. Britta Buschfeld and Dr. Chen Yun, on behalf of SPA, AHK and Covestro respectively signed MoU of the Covestro Master Class for Chemical Industry in the launch ceremony. And later, some guests conferred the certificates to 15 trainees.
Ms. Zheng Ying, on behalf of the Jinshan Education Bureau, congratulated on the success of the ceremony. She hoped that the SPA could seize the opportunity presented by the policies and national development, continue to maintain its fine conduct, learn the advanced vocational education methods from developed countries, and strengthen the close connection with its partners vigorously. She said that SPA should meticulously prepare for implementation of the AHK project, nurture more talents most needed in the industry and provide intelligent support for the industry, and serve the regional economic transformation, upgrade and innovative development.
After the ceremony, the AHK Sino-German Chemical Production-Education Integration Forum was held immediately. The forum was sponsored by the German AHK, undertaken by SPA, and hosted by Mr. Huang Hanjun, vice principal of SPA. The guests attending the forum focused on the effective strategies for the production-education integration in the new era. Through the deep exchange of views among the representatives from both countries, industries, economic zones, enterprises and schools, they shared the experience how to further the cooperation of industry and education and the deep production-education integration. They gave their views regarding how to tackle the difficulties in the implementation of the strategies and the methods to improve the ability of vocational education to serve. They also expressed their wishes to prompt the chemical industry innovation and upgrade to realize the win-win outcome and sustainable development in industry, education, research and implementation.

During the speech, Mr. Wang Lei, on behalf of the Shanghai Municipal Education Committee, warmly congratulated on the success of the opening of the forum. He pointed that against the background of implementation of the National Vocational Education Reform Plan, it was of great importance to joint hands between local authorities and enterprises to explore the way for deepening the cooperation of schools and enterprises, the production-education integration, and the effective strategies of professional internationalization. He highly appreciated the successful path of SPA to deepen the production-education integration and the professional internationalization. In the speech, he also introduced the objectives and strategies the Shanghai vocational education would pursue and adopt in the coming three years under the guideline of the An Action Plan on Shanghai High-quality Vocational Education Development (2019-2022). He hoped that SPA would seize the opportunities to build the school as a preeminent one in Jinshan District and beyond in the field of deep production-education integration. He said in his speech that SPA should become “a highland of vocational education and a cradle for craftsman”, and a “bridgehead” of Shanghai vocational education satisfying international standards and national chemical education.
After the ceremony, some guests visited School History Museum, Chemical Industry and Human Popular Science Exhibition Hall, Cross-enterprise Training Center and AHK Sino-German Chemical Vocational Training Base.
The ceremony was held for launching the world-class AHK Meister Class. It was the latest achievement SPA gains through drawing on the strength from the foreign advanced vocational model, and cooperating with leading enterprises. It blazes a trail in the training of workshop team leaders in the chemical industrial field, demonstrates the advantages Jinshan and Shanghai have in vocational education, and showcases the splendor of the national vocational education demonstration school.
