On May 26, the semi-final competition of the 1st Jinshan Hazardous Chemicals Industry Safety Skills Competition,which was hosted by Shanghai Jinshan Federation of Trade Unions, Jinshan Emergency Management Bureau and Jinshan No. 2 Industrial Park, undertaken by Shanghai Petrochemical Academy and co-organized by Shanghai Chemical Vocational Education Group, Jinshan Vocational Education Group and Jinshan Petroleum and Chemical Industry Society, was successfully held in SPA. The competition was composed of preliminary, semi-final and final competition. Teams from 125 hazardous chemicals enterprises took part in the preliminary competition. Through heated competition, 32 teams stood out and entered the semi-final competition.
The semi-final competition featuring practice on-site took place in the Chemical Engineering Training Building of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy. Judges scored the teams on the site. In the competition, the 32 participating teams are required to analyze meticulously site pipeline failure and finish troubleshooting to resume system operation via team cooperation and targeted analysis, which fully demonstrates teams’ capability in leadership, plan, allocation and implementation through team cooperation.
Members of Competition Organizing Committee including Xu Feng, Director of Jinshan Emergency Management Bureau and Gao Ju, Principal of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy came to competition scene to watch the competitors’ performance and talk with the judges. They applauded the fine spiritual outlook of the competitors and put forward some valuable suggestions about the details of the match. As the unit undertaking the competition, Shanghai Petrochemical Academy set up target-oriented working teams in charge of meals and hygiene, facilities maintenance, technique supporting, reception and guide, medical service and accommodation, photography and video, etc. to create a fine competition environment. SPA’s professional, sophisticated, orderly and meticulous organization capability and service awareness won the recognition from all the participating teams. Xu Feng highly hailed school’s organization and service and expected to further explore cooperation with SPA.
It is scheduled that 16 teams out of the 32 ones which entered the semi-final competition will compete for the final titles. The competition with the guideline of safety and precaution first and comprehensive governance focuses on skills and safety to provide a new platform of career growth for all the excellent employees of hazardous chemicals industry, which will have a positive impact on improving safety skills of hazardous chemicals industry employees, enhancing social recognition and professional honor and boosting safety production in the district.
