On July 14th, the 1st Covestro Chemical Master Class finally kicks off at Shanghai Petrochemical Academy due to the delay caused by COVID-19. At the multi-functional hall of SPA, 15 first-line team leaders from Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai attended the first lecture of Covestro Chemical Master Class named “Cooperation within Enterprise” given by Gao Ju, principal of SPA. Since today, the trainees will start the two-year master class learning.
Covestro Chemical Master Class was initiated from the need of first-line skilled and technological management personnel in the practical production of enterprises. The growth of team leaders calls for improvement of knowledge and skills and cultivation of leadership as well. In the past year, under the guidance of AHK Shanghai, over 50 teachers from SPA and experts from Covestro conducted over 10 face-to-face seminars to discuss course content, teaching material, training method, etc. With the joint efforts of school and enterprise, training and testing plans which are rich in content and conform to substantial needs of Covestro have been designed especially for the 1st Covestro Chemical Master Class.
On Jan 17th, 2020, Shanghai Petrochemical Academy grandly held the launch ceremony of the 1st Covestro Chemical Master Class. Mr. Gao Ju, Ms. Britta Buschfeld and Dr. Chen Yun, on behalf of SPA, AHK and Covestro respectively signed MoU of the Covestro Master Class for Chemical Industry in the launch ceremony.
The kickoff of Covestro Chemical Master Class is another milestone of school-enterprise cooperation, which is also an important strategy that SPA has made to actively implement “National Vocational Education Reform Implementation Plan”, conform with international standards, learn from German advanced vocational education experience and meet the demand of first-line highly-skilled managing personnel of chemical enterprises.
