On Oct. 14, 2021 Shanghai May 1 Labor Award and Shanghai Worker Pioneer were announced publicly and received grand recognition. The construction team of Shanghai Safety Skills Comprehensive Training Demonstration Base of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy was awarded the honorary title of "Shanghai Worker Pioneer".
In recent years, with the promulgation of "Implementation Opinions on the Action Plan for Improving Safety Skills in High-risk Industries", "Shanghai Three-year Action Plan for Safety Production" and other documents, the safety education and training work in high-risk industries has clear requirements and objectives. As cluster areas of chemical industry, there are a large number of chemical production employees in Jinshan and its surrounding areas. The employees' awareness and skills of safety production, and the ability of preventing and handling safety accidents need to be improved, so there is a strong training demand.
The school actively responded to the policy requirements of superior authorities. Under the correct leadership of the municipal and district emergency management bureaus, district education bureau and other departments, SPA quickly set up a work team led by the school leaders, joined with Occupational Skill Testing Authority of Chemical Industry (CIOSTA) and German Industry and Commerce Greater China (AHK), worked with experts from chemical giants such as BASF and Covestro to overcome difficulties and boldly innovate, and developed a series of training and certification standards for employees in hazardous industries. On October 10, 2020, Shanghai Safety Skills Comprehensive Training Demonstration Base was successfully built, whose functions involves examination, training and practice, featuring safety skills upgrading training and safety production qualification certification. The base has undertaken the training task of improving the safety skills of new employees, team leaders and special operation employees in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park (SCIP), Shanghai Petrochemical Company, Jinshan No.2 Industry Park and chemical industry in Yangtze River Delta. School teachers actively connect with enterprise experts, optimize training content, and make training work more targeted, professional and practical. Teachers' professional technical level and good service quality have been highly recognized by enterprises. The base construction has achieved remarkable results and won high training reputation. The radiation effect and leading role is obvious in the Yangtze River Delta and the national hazardous industries at large. SPA signed a cooperation agreement with Pinghu Vocational Secondary School to help boost the construction of local safety skills training bases. In addition, the school team also undertook the safety skills upgrading training for employees from Luxi Group, Moris Group and INOV Group.
In the future, the school will rely on Shanghai Safety Skills Comprehensive Training Demonstration Base and continue to give full play to the advantages of "government, industry, enterprise and school" in running the school, so as to improve the safety production skills of employees in hazardous industries in an all-round way, realize the leap of safety production quality in hazardous enterprises at an early date, and contribute to the new journey of Shanghai during the 14th Five-Year Plan.
