On November 9th, in order to further promote the school-enterprise cooperation, the launching ceremony of Evonik & Röhm Joint Class was held in the Multi-functional Hall of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy. Chen Shufeng, General Manager of Evonik Specialty Chemicals (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., William Kerry Hill, General Manager of Roehm Chemical (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., and Gao Ju, Principal of Shanghai Petrochemical Academy attended the meeting.
On behalf of the school, Gao Ju first expressed his gratitude to the enterprises for their long-term support in the process of cultivating talents in the school. He reviewed the cooperation process and outstanding results between SPA and Evonik, and looked forward to the bright future of cooperation with Roehm. It is expected that Evonik and Roehm will continue to give their full support, continuously promote in-depth cooperation between school and enterprises, and draw a new chapter of win-win development among the three parties. He hopes that students will keep in mind the school motto of "Learned, Virtuous, Skilled, Devoted" and the SPA’s Seagull Spirit of "Confident, Hardworking and Indomitable", and make unremitting efforts to become a qualified Evonik or Roehm employee.
Chen Shufeng briefly introduced the company's development status, shared the company's development history and achievements in the past 20 years, and expected the students to cherish the opportunity and become talents through practice, like outstanding SPA graduates who have already set foot on important positions in Evonik and will continue to win outstanding achievements for the company's development. He hopes that both school and enterprise will make joint efforts and complement each other's advantages to push the school-enterprise cooperation to a new level.
In his speech, William Kerry Hill introduced the basic situation of Roehm, emphasizing that as the world's leading methacrylate manufacturer, Roehm has 15 production bases on four continents, with strong strength and profound foundation. Roehm focuses on the core value featuring creativity, openness, responsibility, entrepreneurship and so on, and looked forward to further cooperation between school and enterprise in the future, which will achieve more and more remarkable results.
During the activity, teacher and student representative expressed their solemn commitment to seriously carry out teaching and learning activities, as well as the beautiful expectation of achieving win-win results with joint efforts. After the ceremony, the attending leaders, accompanied by Gao Ju, visited the advanced training facilities in the Cross-enterprise Training Center and the Chemical Engineering Training Building, knew about the specific process of after-service training and certification process, and exchanged experiences in practical teaching and training.
