In order to further strengthen and improve the ideological and political work of the faculty and staff in our school, and promote the special education of teachers' morality, on the afternoon of November 17th, the Party Committee of Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College held a special conference on the construction of teachers' morality at the Conference Center. Gao Ju, secretary of the Party Committee of the school, attended the meeting and delivered a speech. The leading group of the school Party committee were all present. The meeting was presided over by Chen Xiaobin, deputy secretary of the Party Committee and president of the school.
Taking "abiding by teachers' morality, observing rules and disciplines, and guarding against corruption" as the main line, Gao Ju instructed everyone to learn the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping's series of important expositions on teachers' morality construction. From theory to cases, Gao Ju gave a detailed speech on all-round education on teachers' morality construction, and mobilized and deployed eight key priorities of teachers' morality construction in the school. Gao Ju pointed out that it is necessary to have a deeper understanding of the importance and urgency of improving teachers' morality and ethics under the new situation. The construction of teachers' morality is the premise of running education to the satisfaction of the people, which is related to the fundamental issues of what kind of people to cultivate, how to cultivate people and for whom to educate people. It is an important guarantee for implementing the fundamental task of cultivating virtuous people. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China(CPC), in order to implement the long-term plan of adhering to and developing socialism with Chinese characteristics and realizing the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation, General Secretary Xi Jinping has made many important speeches on the construction of teachers' morality, taking the construction of teachers' morality and ethics as the primary task of improving teachers' quality in the new era and running education to the satisfaction of people, and putting forward a series of standards and requirements for the construction of teachers' morality. These standards are systematic and complete, forming all-round requirements for teachers' ideology, morality, knowledge, ability, style and discipline, endowing teachers with a sacred duty and mission, and serving as an action guide for further strengthening the construction of teachers and training high-quality professional and innovative teachers in the new era.
Gao Ju emphasized that each generation has different missions, so each generation must also bear the responsibility of their times. Our school has a history of 44 years featuring a glorious tradition of self-improvement. "Don’t forget your original aspiration and you should bravely take responsibility; keep the mission in mind and you will strive for pioneers", which is the distinctive political character of each of our teaching and administrative staff. The "hard-working spirit" of the first venture and the "dedication spirit" of the second venture always inspire us to be confident and self-reliant, uphold fundamental principles and break new ground and forge forward with fortitude. Now, we are striving to create a new chapter of "the third venture", which requires us to carry forward and inherit the fine traditions of 44 years and strengthen the "innovative spirit". For us, the blueprint has been drawn, and the mission has been made clear. What we need to do is to be passionate, creative, and responsible, and successfully complete the test of the times that people are satisfied with.
Chen Xiaobin emphasized that the construction of teachers' morality is always the priority. He hopes that all Party branches, schools and departments of our college should implement the spirit of the special conference on the construction of teachers' morality and ethics with a high sense of political responsibility and educate and guide all faculty members to stick to the bottom line of teachers' morality and ethics, the bottom line of law, and the bottom line of integrity. Every teaching and administrative staff should think in big picture of the great plan of educational development, never forget the initial aspiration of cultivating people with virtue, keep in mind the mission of educating people for the Party and the country, accurately grasp the new situation and new tasks faced by the construction of teachers' morality and ethics, take it as their duty to strive to run the vocational education that people are satisfied with, and write an enterprising chapter in the new journey of accelerating educational modernization.
In recent years, the Party Committee of the school has insisted on taking the construction of teachers' morality as its main responsibility and priority, continuously strengthening and improving it, taking it as the first criteria to evaluate the quality of teachers, actively guiding the faculty and staff of the whole school to improve themselves. The faculty and staff of the whole school are dedicated to their jobs, rigorous in academic research, selfless in teaching and educating people, and have made positive contributions to the development of various undertakings of the school.
