In order to further deepen the school-enterprise cooperation, the integration of production and education, and promote the dual cultivation of talents, on November 29th, the Opening Ceremony of 211 BASF Class was held in the Multi-function Hall of our school. Zheng He, Director of Human Resources Services Department of BASF Greater China, Chen Wansuo, Director of Operations of BASF Chemical Co., Ltd., Shen Weilin, Director of BASF New Materials Co., Ltd., Chen Xiaobin, President of Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College, Du Haiyan, Deputy Party Secretary and other leaders attended the ceremony.
Chen Xiaobin gave a welcome speech at the ceremony. Chen Xiaobin noted that in 2022, the school achieved a leap-forward development. The new college is the first public college in Jinshan District, focusing on cultivating high-quality technical talents who serve the secondary industry and regional economic transformation, upgrading and innovation. He pointed out that BASF is a world-famous chemical giant and a core force among our partners, and reviewed the achievements of in-depth cooperation between the school and BASF in talent training, BASF staff summer training camp, and dual curriculum standard system. Chen Xiaobin stressed that he hoped that the students of 211 BASF Class would cherish the opportunity, study hard, get to know the corporate culture as soon as possible, and be familiar with the production equipment, so as to lay a solid foundation for their smooth and successful employment in BASF.
Zheng He, Chen Wansuo and Shen Weilin delivered speeches on behalf of BASF. They told the students the relationship between BASF and China, and introduced BASF products, fields involved, working environment and BASF enterprise philosophy. They hope students will be hardworking and rigorous, develop good habits, improve and excel themselves, face setbacks bravely, keep an endless learning attitude, and challenge difficulties. New opportunities are also new challenges. The students should face future study with indomitable attitude, pay more attention to people around them, learn more ways to get along with each other, and make every day meaningful.
Zhang Junchi, a graduate of BASF class, delivered a speech as a representative of outstanding alumni. He told everyone about his experience, work and growth in BASF, from the initial observation and study, to the auxiliary work, and finally being able to work independently, and he emphasized BASF's core value of putting safety first.
Qiu Ze'en, monitor of BASF class, spoke on behalf of 24 students. She said that she will study hard and stride forward bravely at school and continue to learn and grow in the company in the future to become an outstanding talent with both ability and political integrity. Speaking as a teacher representative, Zhang Ying made demands and expressed ardent hopes for her students from three different angles—— head teacher, parent and friend. She promised that in the future management of BASF class, she would fulfill her duties, make progress together with her classmates and make unremitting efforts to cultivate skilled talents in the new era.
During the interactive session, students asked questions, such as the training of new employees, the relationship between employment and further education, and so on. School and enterprise leaders patiently answered them.
At the end of the ceremony, leaders of both the school and the enterprise took a group photo with teachers and students of 211 BASF Class.
We hope that students will follow the example of outstanding alumni in their future study and life, aim at becoming outstanding skilled talents, and live up to the present and the youth!
