In order to deepen the integration of production and education, promote the upgrading of school-enterprise cooperation, and realize the high-quality development of vocational education, on May 11th, Li Songhao, Deputy Director of Jinshan District Education Bureau, Gao Ju, Secretary of the Party Committee of Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College, and Chen Xiaobin, President of the school, led a delegation of 10 people in total to visit Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai. Dr. Chen Yun, Senior Vice President of Covestro Global and General Manager of Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai, and Dr. Ji Wenbin, Deputy General Manager of Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai and Director of HSEQ Asia Pacific, and other leaders warmly received the delegation.
Accompanied by Ji Wenbin, the delegation visited Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai. The base is the largest comprehensive production base in the world, with 11 factories equipped with advanced production technology, covering the main product lines of Covestro, and its products are widely used in construction, automobile and electronics industries. In 2018, it was selected into the list of National Green Factories issued by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of China, becoming the first green factory in Shanghai Chemical Industry Park.
After the visit, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges. Li Songhao affirmed and appreciated the long-term cooperation and remarkable achievements in the integration of production and education between school and enterprise. At the same time, he proposed that schools should strengthen connotation construction, deepen the integration of education and serve enterprises, and hope that both school and enterprise will further accelerate the production-education integration, school-enterprise cooperation and enterprise-city integration, realize a win-win model of seeking common development, building specialties and sharing resources, and write a new chapter in school-enterprise cooperation.
Gao Ju introduced the school-running characteristics of our school from three aspects: school-enterprise cooperation and production-education integration, benchmarking international standards to improve quality, and joint efforts of government and school in education and training. With nine tasks, he expounded the school-running direction of the new higher vocational college. Focusing on the application and construction of new majors, in-depth cooperation between teaching and research, teachers' enterprise practice, integration of education and training, and staff training, he put forward new needs and new directions for further upgrading school-enterprise cooperation and deepening integration of production and education.
Chen Yun pointed out that in the past 20 years of cooperation, Covestro has established deep trust and friendship with our school, and the continuous and stable training and cultivation of young chemical talents of the school contributes to the success of the enterprise today. In the future, Covestro will continue to deepen cooperation with the school and explore new areas and modes of cooperation.
At the meeting, the School of Chemical Engineering made a report on the construction of the collaborative education base of production and education in Shanghai Bay Area and the construction of modern chemical specialty group of the new higher vocational college, and introduced the construction achievements of the collaborative education base of production and education, the co-construction of key majors of the new higher vocational college, and the setting of curriculum system.
Our school insists on implementing the major decisions and arrangements of national vocational education, always closely combines its own construction with regional economic and social development, and strives to cultivate high-quality workers and skilled talents for the society. This visit and exchange activity is the first destination for our school to deepen the integration of production and education and expand the cooperation between school and enterprises since the establishment of the new higher vocational college. It is not only an important embodiment to seize the important strategic opportunity period of the third venture, implement the new development concept and build a new development pattern but also an important measure to upgrade the cooperation between school and enterprise and deepen the integration of production and education.
