On June 19th, Li Zelong, Deputy Party Secretary and Governor of Jinshan, came to Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College to inspect and research the new higher vocational college work. Li Zelong visited the School History Museum, Cross-enterprise Training Center, Shanghai Safety Skills Comprehensive Training Demonstration Base and other places and facilities, heard the report on the school's running situation and characteristic development, and asked about the problems and difficulties faced by the school in its development. Gao Ju introduced the school's school-running measures and characteristics, such as continuously deepening school-enterprise cooperation, innovating internationalization of specialties, and actively carrying out the combination of education and training, focusing on the progress of the school's new higher vocational construction and the orientation of running the school. On May 25, 2022, Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College was officially approved. At present, the school has fully met the requirements of the Ministry of Education. The first batch of enrollment includes 8 majors, and independent enrollment by the school has been successfully completed. Based on Shanghai's economic and social development, the school focuses on the construction of five centers and four brands to serve the needs of the integrated development of the Yangtze River Delta, and strives to build a high-level higher vocational college which is first-class in industry, leading in Shanghai and well-known domestically in five years.
Li Zelong fully affirmed the achievements of vocational education implemented in the school and the prospect of building a new higher vocational college. He pointed out that at present, Jinshan District is taking industrial transformation as the core, and by strengthening fine, green, high-tech, high-efficiency and high value-added chemical industry, it will advance science and technology agriculture, digital agriculture, high-quality agriculture and seed source agriculture, enlarge the four industrial clusters of new materials, intelligent equipment, life and health, and information technology, and empower science and technology, digital and cultural tourism, and strive to reshape the dynamic structure of regional development and promote the economic quality and effective improvement. Vocational education is an important way for young people to have access to success, and shoulders the important responsibility of cultivating diversified talents, inheriting technical skills and promoting employment and entrepreneurship. Vocational education has a broad prospect and great potential, so we must attach great importance to it and speed up its development.
