On the afternoon of September 7th, Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College held a grand ceremony to celebrate the 39th Teachers’ Day and the commendation meeting for the 2022-2023 academic year in the Conference Center. School leaders including Gao Ju, secretary of the Party Committee of the school, Chen Xiaobin, president of the school, and all the teaching staff attended the meeting. The meeting was presided over by Ze Yubiao, chairman of Trade Union of the school.
The conference began with singing the solemn national anthem. At the meeting, Gao Ju emphasized that in the past academic year, the school adhered to the people-centric development concept, focused on the characteristic construction of "new higher vocational education, modern chemical industry, integration of production and education, and international vision", practiced the Party's overall leadership over education, and let Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era guide the whole process and all aspects of running the school, striving to create a new situation for the third time. The faculty and staff should continue to thoroughly study and implement the Party's educational policy, and persist in educating talents for the Party and the country. He hopes that the faculty and staff of the whole school will improve their political stance and highlight their spiritual guidance, strengthen sense of mission and responsibility and improve the standard of fostering students and consolidate morality and stick to honesty.
Chen Xiaobin delivered a speech, expressing his heartfelt thanks and sincere wishes to the faculty and staff who have worked hard in all aspects of the school. He summarized the achievements made by the school in the construction of the new higher vocational college, the improvement of specialty layout, the promotion of specialty construction, the development of student management, the deepening of international education and the implementation of key construction projects in the past academic year. At the same time, the faculty and staff are encouraged to stick to the education cause with great passion for the school, and continue to make concerted efforts and forge ahead courageously in solidarity in order to achieve the school's goal of "a high-level and distinctive new higher vocational college".
Huang Hanjun, vice president, read out the commendation list for the 2022-2023 academic year, and the school leaders presented awards to the commended collectives and individuals. Among the recipients, there are not only collectives and individuals who have won honors at Jinshan district and school levels, but also senior comrades who have worked diligently in educational field and taught for 30 years. They are dedicated to teaching and educating students, which is the inexhaustible source for the school to make new breakthroughs and achieve new leaps.
At the meeting, teacher representative and student representative also made speeches on "How to be a qualified college teacher" and "How to be a pillar of the motherland in the future".

Today's celebration is grand and warm, showing the impressive achievements made by all the faculty and staff in their brave innovation, and it is also an oath made by the new higher vocational college to step forward from a new start. In the future, all the staff will work together, down-to-earth and hardworking, so that the school can brave the storm and make new breakthrough in the vocational education field.
