On September 21st, in order to further promote the cooperation between schools and localities, Cui Jing, deputy chief of Otog Banner in Erdos City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, and her party visited Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College to discuss the cooperation regarding vocational personnel cultivation and joint construction of bases. Gao Ju, secretary of the Party Committee of our school, warmly received the guests.
The two sides conducted pragmatic discussion and exchange in the conference room of the Chemical Industry Comprehensive Training Building of the school. Gao Ju extended a warm welcome to Cui Jing and her party, introduced the school's school-running characteristics in the aspects of integration of production and education, benchmarking international standards, and combination of education and training, and expressed good expectations for the cooperation between schools and localities to improve the service capacity of vocational education. Cui Jing spoke highly of the remarkable achievements and prominent position of our school in the field of chemical vocational education, and expressed her urgent hope for strengthening inter-provincial cooperation between schools and localities. She looked forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation between the two sides and promoting the alignment between vocational education reform and regional economic development. The guests shared the development of Otog Economic Development Zone and local vocational education, and analyzed the huge local demand for improving the ability of workers in the chemical industry, as well as bottlenecks of social service ability of vocational education. The two sides conducted constructive communication and reached a preliminary consensus around the co-construction of vocational education and training base located in Otog, the formulation of talent training programs that meet international standards, and the training and exchange of dual-qualified trainers.
Before the meeting, Cui Jing and her party visited the School History Museum, Cross-enterprise Training Center, Chemical Industry Comprehensive Training Building and other places to understand the management of training and teaching, the construction and operation of equipment and facilities.
The leaders of Otog Banner Education and Sports Development Center, Economic Development Zone, National Comprehensive Vocational Middle School, Government Office, Cognos Vocational Education Group, Beijing Good Teacher Research Institute and other institutions attended the inspection and exchange.
Otog Banner is located in the west of Ordos, with a total area of 21,000 square kilometers. It boasts six towns, two national nature reserves and two key industrial parks in the autonomous region. It is a multi-industry cluster area based on animal husbandry and dominated by industry. With obvious geographical advantages, it is a county-level economy with great competitiveness and influence in the coordinated development strategy of Hohhot, Baotou and Erdos in the autonomous region and the small triangle economic circle in the west. This cooperation between school and Otog is another example of the localized dual standard of chemical vocational education of our school influencing in the western region. Our school will bear in mind the initial aspiration and mission of vocational education, and use high-quality vocational education and training standards to make the local regional economy and vocational education resonate and develop together.
