On April 2 and 3, the event of "Emergency Rescue of Safety Accidents" of 2024 Shanghai Vocational College Student Skills Competition was successfully held in Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College. This event is sponsored by the Vocational Education Department of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, the Education Technology and Equipment Center of Shanghai Municipal Education Commission, and undertaken by Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College. The competition attracted Shanghai Technical Institute of Electronics & Information, Shanghai Urban Construction Vocational College and other higher vocational colleges to participate. The competition aims at enhancing students' practical operation ability and emergency response ability. Through strict and comprehensive competition, it shows the vigor and elegance of students in contemporary higher vocational colleges.
During the competition, Yin Yinan, deputy section chief of the Education Technology and Equipment Center of Shanghai Education Commission, visited the competition site to inspect and guide the work.
In the fierce and orderly" Emergency Rescue of Safety Accidents" competition, the contestants showed their exquisite skills, fully demonstrated their strengths in mastering theoretical knowledge and practical operation, calmly responded to all kinds of simulated emergencies, responded quickly and effectively, cooperated with team members and pooled resources together, reflecting the positive and challenging spirit of higher vocational students in the new era. In the theoretical competition, the contestants faced the challenge with professionalism, showing their deep understanding of relevant safety laws and regulations, emergency handling procedures and other knowledge. In the practical session, they solved difficulties with professional skills, and demonstrated their good psychological endurance, resilience, emergency rescue skills and teamwork level in the face of emergencies around seven projects, including responding upon alarm and rescue preparation, disaster area detection, flood treatment, collapse rescue, personnel rescue, fire rescue and gas detection. Through the competition, the principle of "promoting training by competition and promoting learning by competition" can be truly implemented, students can improve their professional skills and literacy, and also lay a solid foundation for high-quality development of the school.
The joint efforts of teachers, students and competition support team contribute to the success of this competition. As the host school, the school set up a special working group and professional support team at the beginning of the preparation stage of the competition to make detailed planning and arrangement for all aspects of the competition, from venue layout, equipment debugging to competition process design, and every step was carefully planned and organized. With a high sense of responsibility and professionalism, the whole competition support team ensured the smooth progress of the competition, provided a good competition environment and quality service for the contestants, and enabled all contestants to give full play to their respective strengths.
