From October 23 to 31, 32 competition arenas across the country ushered in the fierce competitions for the finals of the 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition. Our school participated in four events for higher vocational colleges, namely, "Chemical Production Technology", "Chemical Experiment Technology", "Digital Transformation of Production Units" and "Emergency Rescue of Production Accidents", and finally won 1 gold medal and 3 silver medals.
Before the competition, under the leadership of the superior supervisory departments, our school attached great importance and carefully planned, set up a team of preparation coaches composed of enterprise experts and backbone teachers, formed a team of students with solid foundation and excellent quality, and formulated a detailed and scientific preparation plan. At the same time, the school also provided a good preparation environment and meticulous service for the contestants to ensure the smooth preparation for the competition.
In the competition, the contestants of all participating teams of our school went all out to design the project content independently around the actual needs of the production line, and completed the project design content according to the assignment of work among team members. They showed superb technical skills and excellent spirit of contemporary college students, and finally achieved excellent results. Under the careful guidance of teachers such as Kang Yong, Ling Chaohui, Wang Yuqin and Chen Xiangling, four students from the School of Chemical Engineering won the gold medal in the "Chemical Production Technology" event.
Under the careful guidance of teachers such as Gao Wenjie and Yang Liaoyuan, four students from the School of Chemical Engineering, namely Zhang Tingkai, Xie Shiyu, Chen Kaiwen and Zhang Xinyi, won the silver medal in the "Chemical Experiment Technology" event.
Under the careful guidance of Kang Jingyi, Yin Jiling and other teachers, Huang Yujiang, Han Yingjie, Xia Yifan and Ai Yajun from the School of Public Safety and Emergency Management won the silver medal in the event of "Emergency Rescue for Production Accidents".
Under the careful guidance of teachers such as Zhang Jihuang and Sun Song, Yan Jun, Shao Changyi, Tang Jiachen and Fan Minghui, four students from the School of Intelligent Manufacturing won the silver medal in the event of "Digital Transformation of Production Units".
It is reported that from 2024, the National Vocational College Skills Competition is officially upgraded to the World Vocational College Skills Competition. The new competition is an important system design and innovation of China's vocational education, which has become an important stage for the majority of vocational teachers and students to show their elegance and pursue their dreams, and a special brand of China vocational education. The contest is a team competition, focusing on the skills level, professionalism, application value, teamwork, innovation and creativity, etc., to show the craftsmanship of the contestants and carry forward the trend of the times of "glorious labor, valuable skills and great creation".
Under the background of "two news and two firsts", namely, new higher vocational college, new majors, first batch of students to participate in the World Vocational College Skills Competition for the first time, the achievement of the contest marks that the school has been firm in the construction of new higher vocational college and the quality of personnel training has been significantly improved.
Gao Ju, secretary of the Party Committee of the school, said that in the future, the school will take the achievements of 2024 World Vocational College Skills Competition as a new starting point, actively learn from the advanced ideas of vocational education peers, innovate and promote the deep integration of production and education, continuously strengthen the cultivation of students' vocational skills and comprehensive quality, steadily improve the quality of specialty construction, and effectively cultivate more high-skilled talents, master craftspeople and skilled artisans who meet the needs of new technological changes and industrial development, and contribute wisdom and strength to regional economic development.
