In order to thoroughly study the spirit of the 20th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th Central Committee, implement the important instructions of General Secretary Xi Jinping on the work of skilled personnel, strengthen the training of skilled personnel in the industry, and summarize the work of vocational capacity-building in the industry, the 2025 National Conference on Vocational Capacity-building in the Petroleum and Chemical Industry was held in Yueyang City, Hunan Province. Gao Ju, secretary of the Party Committee of our school, and Yan Xiaoli, vice president, attended the meeting.
Focusing on the theme of "thirty years of ingenuity, creating the future with digital wisdom", the meeting summarized the work of vocational capacity building in petrochemical industry and deployed the work of 2025, interpreted the policy of cultivating skilled talents, the economic operation and development trend of petrochemical industry, shared the cases of AI empowering petrochemical industry to develop with high quality and cultivate skilled talents, and started the lecture on craftsmen in petroleum and chemical industry. At the meeting, the outstanding contribution units to the evaluation of skilled personnel in the petroleum and chemical industry were commended, and Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College was honored.
Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College, as an evaluation site, has carried out vocational skills training and appraisal for chemical chief controllers and chemical experimenters all the year round. In 2019, it hosted the National Vocational Skills Competition for Petroleum and Chemical Industry. In 2023, it jointly developed the Sino-German joint certification for "Chemical Technicians" with Occupational Skill Testing Authority of Chemical Industry and COGNOS Group. Up to now, more than 100 people have been jointly certified, which has been well received by relevant departments. In 2023, it was awarded the Germany Dual System Chemical Trainer Training Base, and 113 people were trained as chemical examiners nationwide.
In the face of industry changes and the new era of AI intelligence, the school will deeply analyze the demand for skilled talents in the chemical industry, actively reshape the ability matrix of skilled talents, and make contributions to the global talent training benchmarking experience and the promotion of localization models.
