On May 14th, our school and Covestro jointly held the opening ceremony of 240 Covestro Class. Ji Wenbin, Vice President of Covestro, Director of Health, Safety and Environmental Quality in Asia-Pacific Region, Deputy General Manager of Covestro Integrated Site Shanghai, Chen Xiaobin, President of our school and other leaders of both the school and the enterprise witnessed this important moment. All teachers and students of 240 Covestro Class attended the ceremony.
Ji Wenbin congratulated the establishment of 240 Covestro Class, shared the deep foundation of the cooperation between Covestro and the school to foster talents, and proudly pointed out that half of the front-line employees of the company graduated from Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College, which showed the outstanding achievements of school-enterprise cooperation in cultivating talents. Ji Wenbin said that Covestro hopes that students will cherish the precious opportunity of school-enterprise cooperation, integration of production and education, study professional knowledge and hone practical skills in the future study, and truly become an employee of Covestro.
In his speech, Chen Xiaobin reviewed the cooperation between the school and Covestro for more than 20 years. Chen Xiaobin emphasized that our school shoulder the mission of cultivating high-quality skilled talents. "School-enterprise cooperation and targeted cultivation" is the key to achieving a win-win situation between the school and the enterprise. The continuous opening of Covestro Classes has laid a solid foundation for the in-depth cooperation between both sides. The school will continue to promote the reform of talent cultivation, improve the quality of talents, and help the development of chemical industry and regional economic construction.
Chen Hao, a student representative of 240 Covestro Class, expressed his gratitude for the learning opportunities provided by the school and the enterprise, and shared his plans and expectations for future study and life, showing the positive and enterprising spirit of students from 240 Covestro Class. Gu Huiqin, Covestro's employer brand manager, introduced the arrangement of class activities such as class committee election and summer camp.
Since the start of school-enterprise co-education in 2002, the school has cooperated with Covestro to set up 17 order classes, trained 533 outstanding students, built a training base and became a benchmark for the integration of production and education. The Covestro Cup Skills Competition has been successfully held for 16 sessions, and "Chemical Master Certificate Team Leader Training" project has promoted cooperation and upgrading. The school and the enterprise have joined hands to build a community of destiny and become a model for the integration of production and education. These fruitful achievements have witnessed the solid footprint of the two sides working hand in hand, and also accumulated valuable experience for the establishment of this new class.
