Recently, the Second Shanghai Chemical Industry Labor Skills Competition, jointly sponsored by Shanghai Federation of Trade Unions and Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Management Committee, undertaken by Shanghai Chemical Industry Park Trade Union Committee, and co-organized by Shanghai Chemical Industry Association and Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College, came to a successful conclusion in our school. As an annual skills competition in the chemical industry of this city, this competition is an important platform for deepening the integration of production and education and promoting the spirit of artisans, attracting elite teams from more than 20 enterprises including Shanghai Chemical Industry Park, Shanghai Petrochemical, Shanghai Gao Qiao Petrochemical and Huayi Group.
The competition closely reflects the core needs of safe production in the chemical industry and sets up targeted practical projects. On October 22nd, "Pipeline Fault Treatment" competition was held in the Chemical Engineering Training Building. Facing the complicated industrial pipeline system, the contestants accurately diagnosed the faults such as leakage and abnormal pressure in a limited time, and quickly completed the repair. At the scene, the fastening of every valve and the replacement of every seal show the contestants' solid basic skills and rich practical experience. The referees uphold justice and rigorously judge every operational detail to ensure the fairness and justice of the competition results.
The next day, in the "3D Simulation Operation of Special Operations" project, the contestants simulated high-risk special operations such as hot work and confined space operations in a highly simulated virtual environment. This is not only an assessment of the familiarity with safety regulations, but also an extreme challenge to the contestants' ability of risk identification and emergency decision-making in dynamic and complex situations.
The success of the competition can’t be separated from careful preparation and all-round logistics support. Before the competition, the school gave full play to its advantages in teaching resources, selected a number of outstanding teachers, and provided systematic and professional intensive training for the contestants to help them succeed. At the same time, the relevant departments set up a special support work group, and conducted several rounds of tests and drills on the competition venue, equipment, power network, medical emergency and other links, ensuring the smoothness, fairness and safety of the whole competition with the highest standards and strict requirements, and creating an excellent competition environment for all participants.
This competition is not only a skill contest, but also a concentrated display of industry demeanor. It has aroused the enthusiasm of industrial workers to study technology and practice their internal strength, and promoted the new journey of Shanghai chemical industry towards safe, green and innovative development.
