On April 17, the first session of the 2026 Jinshan Craftsmanship College “Xin Gong School” Skills Enhancement Program – Safety Training for Team Leaders in Green Chemical Enterprises, sponsored by Jinshan Federation of Trade Unions and hosted by Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College, was grandly inaugurated at our school. Attendees included Tao Lehui, Vice Chairperson of Jinshan Federation of Trade Unions; Yang Dong’an, Director of the Grassroots Work Department of Jinshan Federation of Trade Unions; Zhang Haixia, Vice President of Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College; and Xin Chuanguo, Shanghai Craftsman and Chief Technician of Shanghai Dongda Chemical Co., Ltd. All course instructors and trainees participated in the ceremony.

Tao Lehui noted that this training is among the first courses offered by the Jinshan Craftsmanship College, and it is of great significance for serving the construction of Jinshan’s “Four Major Functions” and promoting the green, intelligent, and safe transformation of local industries. She put forward three expectations for the trainees: First, attach greater importance ideologically, enhance the sense of responsibility and mission for learning, and strive to transform themselves into knowledge‑based, skilled, and innovative industrial workers of the new era. Second, make greater efforts in action, actively translate learning outcomes into practical effectiveness, and build a grassroots backbone team that understands safety, masters skills, and excels in management for their enterprises. Third, maintain a proper attitude, strictly abide by training discipline and regulations, and demonstrate the disciplined, pragmatic, and positive image of Jinshan industrial workers. She encouraged the trainees to take this training as a new starting point, integrate the spirit of craftsmanship into their work, internalize safety and green professional competence as instinct, achieve outstanding results in ordinary posts, and contribute wisdom and strength to the high‑quality development of Jinshan chemical industry.

On behalf of the school, Vice President Zhang Haixia delivered a welcome address and detailed the overall arrangements and learning requirements of the training. She pointed out that this training course focuses on the urgent needs of the green chemical industry and is designed to enhance the safe production management capabilities of enterprise team leaders. The five‑day course covers topics such as the concept of sustainable development in green chemical industry, responsible care, cultivation of craftsmanship spirit, basic principles of green chemical technology, energy saving and pollution prevention, as well as pipeline fault handling, risk identification, practical operation of safety standards for special work, and experience of digital energy isolation. The training combines theoretical instruction with hands‑on practice, and invites industry experts, model workers and craftsmen, corporate executives, and senior college instructors to teach, aiming to simultaneously improve team leaders’ management skills and professional safety capabilities. She hoped that the trainees will abide by discipline, actively participate, focus on practice, and apply what they have learned.

At the opening ceremony, Yi Bilin, a trainee representative from Carbonbay Industry Park and Bauhinia, delivered a speech. He expressed that he would cherish this rare learning opportunity, strictly follow training discipline, base himself on his post, thoroughly understand and master all learning tasks, and strive to transform the knowledge gained into practical work capabilities, contributing to enterprise safe production and green development.

Shanghai Craftsman Xin Chuanguo shared his personal journey from frontline worker to chief technician, along with his stories and insights on craftsmanship. Through breakthrough and exploration, he interpreted the spirit of craftsmanship; through reverence and rigor, he practised the mission of green chemistry. He inspired the trainees to study diligently, deepen their skills, embed craftsmanship into their work, and shoulder their responsibilities.

After the opening ceremony, all trainees, guided by school staff, visited the Chemical Training Building, where they gained an intuitive understanding of the training equipment, teaching venues, and hands‑on environment.

As the host of this training, Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College will fully provide high-quality teaching resources and service guarantees to ensure the training achieves practical results, supporting the green, safe, and high‑quality development of Jinshan chemical industry.
