Our School Successfully Holds 2026 Career Experience Day

To deepen the integration of general and vocational education, promote industry-education collaboration, and uphold the ethos of “glorious labor, valuable skills, and great creativity,” our school successfully held the offline sessions of the 2026 Shanghai Student Career Experience Day on May 16, 17, and 23. Under the theme “Experience Careers, Discover Yourself, Enlighten the Future,” the event featured seven distinctive hands-on programs and attracted over 1,100 primary and secondary school students along with their parents.

During the event, President Chen Xiaobin visited the Smart Manufacturing Building and the Chemical Engineering Training Building on the South Campus to inspect and guide the activities. He closely reviewed the implementation of each program and the safety education measures in place. He emphasized that on one hand, every participating student should fully master equipment operating procedures and safety precautions; on the other hand, each program must be well managed and supported to ensure that students truly benefit from “learning by doing,” thereby enhancing their career experience, sense of achievement, and vocational interest.

The Career Experience Day highlighted the school’s professional strengths in advanced manufacturing and modern chemical engineering. The seven experience programs included: Chemical Safety and Process Simulation Experience, Introduction to Intelligent Manufacturing Robot Programming, Fun Experiments with Polymer Materials, Industrial Analysis and Testing, Automated Production Line Observation and Operation, Environmental Technology Application Practice, and 3D Printing and Digital Design. All programs were held in the Smart Manufacturing Building and the Chemical Engineering Training Building on the South Campus. The entire event strictly followed the established plan, and all staff members demonstrated a strong sense of ownership, ensuring the successful execution of the Career Experience Day.

The event was meticulously organized. The school’s Youth League Committee uniformly recruited student volunteers and implemented a fixed-post system, effectively managing on-site guidance, order maintenance, and inquiry services. Logistical support was robust: the General Affairs Department arranged extra tables and chairs in the first-floor lobby of the Smart Manufacturing Building and coordinated with the cafeteria to remain open at noon on the activity days, ensuring that students, parents, and staff had access to meals. The school also set up a dedicated waiting lounge for parents and guided them to complete an online satisfaction survey via QR code after the event, gathering extensive feedback.

The activity not only helped students develop career interest and a passion for work through hands-on experience but also allowed them to learn about vocational education, enjoy career exploration, and envision future career paths. Our school will take this event as an opportunity to continue improving top-level design, establish a robust operational mechanism for career experience activities, promote the healthy development of such initiatives, and contribute to cultivating more high-quality technical and skilled talents.
