On the afternoon of September 9, Jin Tao, Director of the Jinshan Education Bureau, led a delegation to Nippon Paint Industrial Coatings (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. for a research visit. Qiu Mingbo, Deputy Director of Jinshan Education Bureau; Chen Xiaobin, President of Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College; and Du Haiyan, Party General Branch Secretary of Shanghai Food Science and Technology School, participated in the visit. Zhou Qicheng, General Manager of Nippon Paint Industrial Coatings (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., Xu Ning, Plant Director, and leaders of relevant departments received the delegation.
Jin Tao pointed out that the purpose of this research visit was to deliver outstanding graduates to high-quality enterprises in the district, promote deep enterprise involvement in school talent cultivation, and do a good job in the major undertaking of industry-education integration. He affirmed the remarkable achievements made by Shanghai Modern Chemical Industry Vocational College and Shanghai Food Science and Technology School in talent cultivation in recent years, and proposed that schools and enterprises discuss in depth ways to deepen industry-education integration and collaborative education, push school-enterprise cooperation to greater depth and solidity, and promote high-quality internships and employment for students.
Qiu Mingbo said that schools and enterprises need to work together to solve the problem of information asymmetry between student employment and enterprise labor demand, jointly formulate talent cultivation plans, use the Nippon Paint Jinshan Plant as an industry-education integration training base, enable learning in real enterprise scenarios, and cultivate applied talents that truly meet the needs of industrial development.
Zhou Qicheng introduced the overall situation of the Nippon Paint Jinshan Plant. The enterprise is in a period of rapid development and has an urgent demand for talent. He hoped to bring in more basic talents to support industrial development and looked forward to more exchanges and cooperation with schools. Xu Ning expressed the hope to bring in more high-quality talent through close school-enterprise cooperation, and he also raised the enterprise’s needs for positions in safety, chemical engineering, color matching, logistics, and electromechanical fields.
Chen Xiaobin introduced the school’s operation and put forward three cooperation suggestions: school and enterprise should jointly participate in program development and talent cultivation plans; teachers from school and talents from enterprise should engage in “two-way flow”; and explore “distributed order-based classes” based on the Carbonbay Industrial Park as a unit, providing targeted cultivation across enterprises and programs.
After the meeting, participants visited the factory laboratory, central control room, and production site in accordance with safety regulations.
Our school will take this research visit as an opportunity to always adhere to its mission of serving regional economic and social development, emphasize service and strengthen contributions, and actively promote industry-education integration and school-enterprise cooperation. Next, our school will deepen cooperation with Nippon Paint Industrial Coatings (Shanghai) Co., Ltd., promote collaborative education through industry-education integration, improve the quality of student internships and employment, and cultivate more high-quality technical and skilled talents for the high-quality development of Jinshan.
