From September 24 to 30, the 2026 World Vocational College Skills Competition Finals in the Chemical Technology Event (Higher Vocational Group) was held simultaneously at Dongying Vocational College and Zaozhuang Vocational College. Our school's team stood out from more than 100 participating teams nationwide and ultimately won the Silver Award.
The competition received great attention from the school. The School of Chemical Engineering formed a participating team, appointing two teachers, Gao Wenjie and Lu Xin, as instructors, focusing on competition preparation and guidance of chemical experimental technology. The team was composed of four students: Fang Mingkai, Chen Yichang, Mei Jieyi, and Zhou Wanxin, who devoted themselves fully to preparation and competition.
Compared with previous competitions, the competition scheme of this year's event underwent significant adjustments, placing higher demands on the comprehensive practical abilities of participating teams. To adapt to the new competition format, our school team was officially formed in January 2026 and successively completed intensive winter vacation training, skill enhancement at the Chemical Experimental Technology Club, and high-intensity training throughout the entire summer vacation without any breaks. All members achieved a complete transformation in technical capabilities and teamwork through repeated refinement.
To further strengthen competitiveness, the instructor team completely broke away from previous preparation frameworks and redeveloped competition projects adapted to the new format. Throughout the process, they designed training content around real problems in actual industrial scenarios in the analytical laboratory, closely aligning with the directions of green environmental protection, quality-driven national development, and the cultivation of high-quality technical and skilled talents. The training fully covered the entire process of sample processing, sample separation, sample purification, and sample detection, highly restoring the complete chain of real chemical production. During preparation, the team also independently developed supporting intelligent data processing software, further optimizing operational efficiency during the competition.
During the competition, the four contestants had clear divisions of work and cooperated closely, efficiently completing all required operations within the one-hour time limit, fully demonstrating solid technical skills and excellent teamwork. Through this competition, the participating students greatly improved their comprehensive skills, including practical abilities, emergency problem-handling capabilities, and AI data processing abilities.
The entire preparation and participation process received strong support from school leaders and multiple departments, with robust guarantee from technical direction guidance to logistics services. Going forward, our school will continue to deepen the talent cultivation model of promoting teaching and learning through competition, further integrate the teaching of Analytical Testing Technology with actual industry needs, continuously drive the upgrading of program development, and deliver more high-quality technical and skilled talents that meet job requirements for national and regional industries!
